Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I posted up a review. Well today I would like to share with you my thoughts on the new 1/18 2016 Ford Focus RS by Ottomobile.
For those who are not familiar about Ottomobile, they are the sister company of GT Spirit. Otto makes models that most manufacturer's don't produce. ie: BMW Alpina B7 biTurbo

And also models of European cars that are not available in the North American market. ie: VW Passat r36

When the New Ford Focus was revealed way back in Cologne Germany, where the cars was designed; many of us living in NA wished that Ford will bring the RS to North America. And that wish came true. Although the new Focus RS was initially released in Europe first, many Ford dealers started to take orders for the new RS in NA. There is a waiting list, for the RS. And if you had $50k to burn in your pocket and love hot hatches, the new RS is definitely one of the cars on your list. But... not all of us have $50K to burn. So, when Otto announced that they will be making a 1/18 RS this past summer, I was very excited. After looking at the pre production pics, I knew this is a must have model in my collection. Otto has already made the MK l Focus, and this model will complement it well.
Well the wait is finally over. When the FedEx driver dropped of the model at my office, I quickly opened the package. My first reaction was... WOW! It looks sweet! The nitrous blue paint, head lights, disk brakes with Brembo calipers, black wheels are perfectly captured. As with all other resins models, panel lines look great.

After studying Pics of the real car and comparing to the model, Otto did a very fine job of capturing the look and shape of the car.

There was a QC deficiency, the rear license plate of my model is placed crooked. And upon further inspection, the rear windshield wiper is curved. I wonder is this a mistake on Otto's part?

The interior is nicely captured, and the seats have the RS badging decal. I am very happy that Otto did not tint the back passenger windows. Everything is visible. I wish Otto had placed seat belts. Minor detail.

The only thing that bothered me about this model, is that the B-pillars for this car are painted on the thin plastic clear piece. Why??? They added B-pillars for their Nismo 400r and r33 LM models...why couldn't they incorporate this detail to the model? This is also the same issue for other their higher brand GT Spirit models.

Other than a few minor issues, I think Otto, has produced another nice quality model. If you lobe hot hatches like I do but don't have $50k to burn, this model should be in your collection. Otto only made 2000 pieces of the RS in Nitrious Blue, and it is completely sold out.
