anyone know how the roads are going up to cypress by any chance? |
Same as they are every time it snows. Drive up with a vehicle with snow tires. Why would you drive up a mountain, in the winter, with all season (summer) tires? :fulloffuck: |
The road up to cypress is taken care of very well. However the parking lot is a different story because they can only clear the parking lots when they are empty. If its not snowin up there you will be fine. Always check their website. If its really bad they will post it on their site. Posted via RS Mobile |

It won't be a problem for the next couple days. You don't need snow tires to make it to cypress. It's good to have but it's overkill most of the time. I find going up is the easy part. Getting out of the parking lot and drive down is a little tricky but if you drive carefully there is no reason you can't make it down the road safely. Just check the weather forecast before you go and make your own judgement call. Only you will know what you and you car can handle. I drive a 2001 pathfinder with all seasons. I'm good until about 12 inches of snow. I carry 2 shovels and a set of chains for when it gets really crazy. Posted via RS Mobile |
You should have snow tires if it's below freezing. All season tires on slippery roads and you'll be one of those idiots in the snow drifts/ditch on the corners. If you've got snow tires, you should be fine. Just pack a shovel if anything to clear around your car if need be. Last January, when I did my avalanche safety course on Seymour, there were a bunch of idiots with all seasons who got stuck almost at the parking lot because they couldn't make it over an icy patch of the road. Don't be one of those idiots who think 4wd (CRV, RAV4, etc) or anything similar is all you need. Mountain weather, mountain driving conditions, mountain-ready vehicle. |
