Question, with Goo-Net, does the price include shipping + agent cost?

kwy 06-26-2013 12:17 PM

Not the same as the genuine R34 you posted underneath this. This is an R32 with an R34 front and rear conversion. It was at the last RS meet.

BurnoutBinLaden 07-19-2013 11:26 AM

Took a look at some of the auction sites in Japan...I saw a mint/stock V spec II in Pearl White for $92,000 US.

Holy. Shit. That's R35 territory. I haven't seen one MY99 V spec under $45,000 either.

Swonz 07-20-2013 08:42 AM

and how much is a R33 GT-R in comparison? 20K?

At auctions expect 1.7-2.1 million yen ($17,600-$21,800 CDN). Autotrader sites vary wildly, I saw a 1996 GT-R for $64k on Goo-Net.

For R34s, you will be paying about 3-3.5 million yen ($31,000-$36,000) for a 1999 V spec with 50,000km, or 4-5 million ($41,000-$51,700) for an example at 30,000km or less. V spec IIs and M specs from 2000 are insanely expensive, I've seen 6 million, 7 million, even 10 million+ yen. R34s have commanded a premium from the beginning; remember that less than 12,000 were built, compared to 43,000 R32s and 16,000 R33s.

Personally, I'd wait for an S15 Silvia. It's also a January 1999 car and you can definitely bring a Spec-R Aero over here for under $25k when all is said and done.

These numbers come from (non-English) auction sites in Japan like Kakaku and Carsensor. YMMV.

Good info!

originalhypa 07-20-2013 02:25 PM

is love to do a lhd firewall conversion on an r34.
to really see if Nissan Japan was lying when they said it couldn't be done. also, easier to manipulate at the Timmies drive thru. I gots to have my glaze, dawg.

:troll:

srsly good thread though. I've been writing for these since the early 2k's.

SpuGen 07-20-2013 04:49 PM

You would have easier luck with an S15. It shares the same firewall as an S14.

Only problem would be the dash, of course. But they sell LHD Dashes in Taiwan and the Phillipines. Sourcing one would be the hard part.

I hear LHD conversions are also popular in the middle east.

I'm no expert on Skylines, so can someone tell me if the R34 is better than the R35 in any way? Maybe because the R34 comes in manual? I just don't see the point of importing one for the kind of money that you guys are quoting. $50k would get you a stock R34 with 400hp and RHD? THe one posted above must have cost over $200k to build, to do the LHD conversion and get it to 700whp. I think you can buy an R35 nowadays for around $65k and put $10k into it and have that kind of power. And have LHD. So whats's the point of bringing over an R34.... I know they are cool and rare and all, and if Nissan never made an R35 then the R34 would be a great car to buy... but with the R35 being out, it just doesn't make sense to me.

BurnoutBinLaden 07-22-2013 09:31 AM

For the record, JDM cars that are imported into Canada come from the auction sites and not Autotrader sites like Goo.

This is what I was wondering and I've seen an article about this.

Basically, to die hard Skyline fans, the GT-Rs have to be Right Hand Drive, comes with RB26DETT, manual transmission, Attesa 4WD, etc...

R35 without a name of 'Skyline', paddle shift, big V6, left hand drive, just doesn't do it.

ones a car that you drive....ones a computer that drives for you

you can't look at importing cars for values based on performance...for a lot of us it's nostalgia...the cars we admired when we were younger and have been yearning for year after year.

xpl0sive 07-22-2013 01:16 PM

but doesnt the R34 have all kinds of computers as well?

comparison vid...

Same concept, why is a 993 worth more than a 996.

It might also be rubbing our noses in the Americans who don't have sensible import laws and can't get R34s. :troll:

A lot of the F&F series cars have been seized and crushed by the Feds

I know there are higher demand for R34 than R35, but I'm still glad that Nissan built the R35.

R35 was an affordable sportscar that can actually smoke Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini's ass.
