I'm an adult and I did that. Heck, myself and other fellow tenants even went as far as jumping up and down on stuck elevators (when we reached the point of frustration)... and we were all adults.


The point is, that video could be open to more interpretations rather than the popular consensus around here. It's hardly an objective observation when you only choose to interpret things the way you want to see it... you know, the more juicier (and exciting) interpretation.

Anyways, not saying your interpretation is wrong though.

I found the hiding and the bending of the knees (bending to standing straight up, back and forth) the most odd...

i may have missed this part but in the video, did she come from her room to leave the hotel? or did she come back from somewhere to get back into her room?

I like how you're optimistic about it, but I decided to take a closer look at the video (as I was watching it on my phone earlier), and try to analyze it at a deeper level. This isn't a direct response to your post, but I figured I'll give my reasons why I think this is totally not normal behavior.



So immediately, I can see strange behavior.
Notice she walks in the elevator, sticks out her hand, and then turns 180 to press the buttons. It's almost like she turns her body, with the arm follow-through. Normally, people would face the buttons before extending out the hand to push buttons. It's subtle, but I think it's worth noting the difference. Not to mention that she presses multiple buttons immediately, and of course as mentioned before, she puts her face extremely close to it.

She then peeks out the elevator doors, seemingly really paranoid. This isn't a casual peek to see if anyone outside can help her with the elevator being stuck. She slowly moves one foot toward the door, then aggressively sticks her head out and looks both ways rather fast, before slipping back into the elevator.

Then she goes tight against the corner. That's strange enough on it's own in an empty elevator. Note she's not walking casually to it, she's sliding one foot at a time like how someone would when they are sneaking around.

She goes for another peek out the door, more casually this time. Nothing suspcious here... until you notice she's slowly creeping past the door, puts one foot out slowly..... then suddenly hops out, in a sudden jerk motion.

(She stays outside for a bit, standing out of camera view, which at this moment, it's still strange why the elevator doors haven't closed yet.)

She goes back in and pushes the rest of the buttons, so nothing really strange until she steps back out, hunched over, and waving her arms around. It's not the act of waving arms, but the way she positions her arm and her hands. Personally, I've only seen handicaps in wheelchairs waving their arms like that. And as you can see, even after she waves it between the doors (going by the theory of her just trying to trigger the door sensors), after she pulls her hand away, she's still moving it about in this awkward flowy manner.

She goes on bending and standing, and doing something with her hands. It kind of looks like she's cracking her fingers, but I've never seen anyone bend while cracking their knuckes/fingers.

And obviously, something's up with the elevator. Doors don't stay open for so long. Near the end of the video, the walls on the outside changed to a red colour, so I'm not sure did the elevator suddenly start working after she left. Which just makes it even more bizarre. Although one logical reason is maybe the elevator has sensors outside as well... but from my knowledge, don't elevators only have senors in the actual doorway? Because she was definitely clear from the doorway various times in the video for a long-enough period of time.

Again, I'm just being optimistic; not necessarily correct.


I thought about that but only briefly. Only because if you think about it, what you're only shown is a clip. You don't know if the earlier portion of the clip shows her having already gone into the elevator and out again after finding a faulty elevator.


Nonetheless. There's a reason why I said 90% of her actions are exactly what I would do at "X" scenario; it's because I agree with the consensus as well that she does display some odd behavior.



(I don't know why a few people are in my grill about merely suggesting an alternate interpretation. Do people really just not want the possibility of painting this girl on a different light other than what's currently being painted right now?

I feel like we're such gossip queens for the amount that we really want the juicier (drug) angle to be true. But at the end of the day, all it is, is just a knock-on-wood that this likelihood is not true at all.)

My theory is she met some guy on FB or IG or something, probably seemed really "cool" and wanted to hang out with him... This is his 'hood' and they hung out, she got into drugs (obviously, from the video) and her new friend decided to 'share' her with his buddies.

Also, don't let the 'good college girl with a good family' fool you. ANYONE can get into drugs.

Noir, I appreciate the optimism, but dude you are dreaming and grasping like crazy saying that's even remotely how normal people act in any circumstance.

As for university students not necessarily being smart, it's totally true. However using the Axis/Allies isn't the best way to argue the point. I think someone put it better when they said there's a difference between book smart and street smart. There is probably an even better term for it, but the point is, anyone can read a book and retain the information if they can pay attention long enough. These people can breeze through all levels of school with flying colours. That is nothing like actually being able to think logically or creatively.

It's just the timing of things. If you look at this user's post history (and fail count) it was warranted.

The book guy's was warranted too, he was given points for promoting his crappy porn sites here, and was also given points for promoting his book. I believe he would have been offered to buy the ad space , but opted for the spam method instead.

As for Hondaracer, it might have been an overreaction to some really stupid posts he has been making lately. But unlike the other guy who got banned in this thread, he actually does contribute. So that's being looked at by the mods.

from what ive seen they come down to the area and start hanging out with someone or a friend brings them down to hang out and they slowly become users

from what ive been told by those addicted is they come down to the area and hang out with either a "cool guy" or "hot babe" and they're asked to try something cool/new so that they can have a "fun night and great sex" because it's "totally safe" and that's where they become hooked

there are extreme cases too i've heard about from counselors but not from users (i take that to mean it's rare) where people claim that they were forced into it while addicts steal their wallet and make use of their credit cards etc and it doesn't get reported stolen or the use of the credit/debit cards is allowed so that the person can continue to get their fix

if what Im hearing is correct that she left for LA without telling her family a real reason things def seem suspicious. Unfortunately her chances of being found alive now is likely slim now...it's been 2 weeks. :(

It's an extreme example of wanting to fit in. It's just like why would anyone start smoking cigarettes? You know it destroys your body to the point where it kills you (and you feel like shit every day up until that point), it makes you stink, it makes you ugly, it's expensive, it annoys everyone around you... But you have to fit in, so you start doing it anyway.

As for being 'forced into it' that sounds like a BS excuse from people who don't want to cop to it.. but you never know I guess.

Now I don't know what Hondaracer said to get banned, but as for the guy in this thread.. I don't think it's right to ban him for posting his opinion, as blunt as it was (too close to the truth or too insensitive perhaps?) - regardless if he contributed regularly or not.

This is just my two cents, but I do appreciate that you took the time to explain the other recent situations.

no one mentioned LSD. it sorta looks like she may have been high on that drug. but man, it's been many days and still no sighting of her.

I feel bad for the family. It's horrible to lose a loved one especially since it was just CNY the following weekend.

At this point, it would be a miracle if she was found alive.

Some artices just say "a hotel elevator"

But it would be kind of odd if she was also in other hotels...
