Is it just me or does anyone else notice a shadow on the top, right corner of the elevator door frame? Meaning there was possibly someone in the hallway, to the left of the doors outside.

Stormspirit 02-15-2013 04:11 PM

hope they find her, that sucks, but tbh kinda stupid on her part not doing research about that part of the city and staying in a ghetto area by urself??? kinda asking for it.

I "beg to differ", and I THINK that the family IS giving out all the information to the best of their knowledge, and the police are withholding it from the general public for whatever reason.

Why would they withhold information like that? When a mentally ill person goes missing, the first thing they say is that they are mentally ill.

I agree it would be important information to release, and I can't see why the police would withhold that kind of information, but up to this point, it's only a possibility that she might have been mentally ill. But there's no solid information about it... possibly because she wasn't mentally ill in the first place.

EvoLove 02-15-2013 10:56 PM

um i think theres a chance she may or may not be on bath salts/other drugs =.= considering the area where she stayed. It would of been easy for her to obtain some. Maybe she witnessed rape/murder and she couldn't handle the trauma, and she had a mental break down?

StylinRed 02-15-2013 11:00 PM

she's probably still alive imo just simply missing somewhere in la in a den/under a bridge getting high

her family should be down in LA (if they aren't already) scouring the streets imo

get chills everytime i think about this story. hope she's found safe :(

and he's probably right.

they told us to start a thread in the support forum... so well, I did.

all of you that think the ban was unjust... well here's the thread you can speak up on. (not trying to throw the topic off, just I don't know how else I can direct everyone that thanked the post to the thread). Just following Mod/Admin orders.

I don't know Elisa but I am acquainted with someone close to her so I don't know anything about her but shouldn't the police start questioning all of her FRIENDS first? Usually close friends would probably know more about her personal life than her parents (ie. if she takes drugs at parties, looking for a mate, etc.)
Judging by the video it most likely looks like she's under the influence as she seems to be hallucinating. Whether it was of her own accord or tricked/forced upon her is for another day.
I doubt the family would purposely withhold information as they are desperate to find her (as would any parents), it's more likely they just don't KNOW about her secrets.
I hope she is found safe and found soon :(

Razor, Ronith... you both should have access to that forum. Neither of you have had your access restricted to it.

Lets not get side tracked in this thread.

Yeah, for some reason it was disabled with no note left behind.

I think it was a bug from when the last board overhaul. Skinny helped me fix it.

Very sad news if they confirm it is Elisa

Body found at L.A. hotel where Elisa Lam last seen | CTV British Columbia News

Quote:

Police in Los Angeles say a body has been found at the downtown hotel where missing Vancouverite Elisa Lam was last seen.
Lam, 21, has been missing since January 31st – and was last seen at the Cecil Hotel, near the city's skid row. She was travelling across southern California and stopped in Los Angeles before she was due to stop in Santa Cruz.
Videotape released after her disappearance showed the young woman acting very strangely in the hotel elevator.
LAPD investigators confirm that a body was discovered at the hotel, but did not say whether it is of a man or woman.
Online news publication Laist said the body was found inside a water tank on the hotel’s roof.

Los Angeles Times | February 19, 2013 | 1:23 PM
A Canadian woman who was last seen more than two weeks ago at a downtown Los Angeles hotel was found dead today inside a water tank on top of the building, authorities said.
A Cecil Hotel employee discovered the body of Elisa Lam, 21, about 10 a.m. while responding to a complaint about low water pressure, sources said.

RIP :(

Sad that a hotel employee found her. I don't get why the cops didn't scour the entire building intially. Many on the detective forum agreed (before today's finding), they had hoped the LE had searched all spaces of the Hotel, including roof for Elisa.

vafanculo 02-19-2013 01:02 PM

Either she really was being followed or targeted..or she could have put herself in there..
