Don't know if it's coinotron or just LTC in general but with my 6950 I'm only getting like .18 LTC per day now, not even worth mining anymore

280x's are selling for $500 now. Everything mining related is just ridiculously priced.

Anyone bought PPC back at 3$ a pop a few weeks ago? It's now up to around 6ish. You easily could've doubled your money.

It could be a pump from 4-5~ but was easily predicted.

What do you guys use for adding US funds into your BTC-E account?

tomatogunk 01-02-2014 11:42 AM

Bitcoin, I'm really happy for you. Imma let you finish. But Coinye is the best cryptocurrency of all time... OF ALL TIME!

Srs question.. do you think with the addition of these alt coins, could it de-legitimize the value of cryptocurrencies as a whole?

Wire transfer.

nabs 01-02-2014 02:45 PM

I want to start buying and trading but I do not know how to start... its aggravating. (do not want to use the ATM)

godwin 01-02-2014 02:51 PM

Honestly Mr Li and Fortress they all hedge for bitcoin, because for them the investment is minimal.

Besides the Li family have a history of leaving people who follow them holding the bag... PCCW is as memorable as NDP's Fast Ferries.. oh don't forget Tom.com.

As an investment it is pretty high risk, unless you are doing high freq just like forex.

This story talks about Bitpay, and how Li Ka Shing is an investor. There's one billionaire who knows what's going on, so this is an interesting story

We can start RevCoins if you want.. you just need enough business to accept RevCoins as a legit currency.

localbitcoins.com

good way to start.

nabs 01-02-2014 03:07 PM

is there a wallet that can support multiple types of crypto? I'm mainly looking to trade in LTC and PPC, but maybe buy BTC and then trade out for USD, then use the USD to buy LTC and PPC.

LOL so many acronyms but I hope you know what I'm talking about.

Gerbs 01-02-2014 03:10 PM

Id buy bitcoins off where dhari said, or craigslist. Then trade for other coins through exchanges.

meme405 01-02-2014 03:14 PM

I wish I had gotten into this sooner, right from the beginning when BTC was fluctuating like mad around 100 bucks a coin I was super intrigued by the idea. Now I kinda feel like this digital currency thing is getting out of hand and it is eventually going to collapse on itself.

I mean come on, when you have literally crap like "Coinye West" popping up basically making a mockery of the entire system, you know the model cannot be sustainable...

Or maybe there is some huge aspect to this I am missing...

If something new gets popular quick and it can be copied it will happen. It happens in music, clothing, anything...

I don't think copies hurt the system. If something better comes along, great maybe people will jump onto that. If it's crap like Coinye West, it'll just be a novelty.

It's gonna be sad reading about all the normal people who had their wealth wiped out by bitcoin bubble pop :(

If these "normal" people invested more money than they could afford to lose, and get wiped out, it's their own damn fault.

Gerbs 01-02-2014 05:34 PM

People on dogecoin subreddit auctually thinks the coin will be worth 1$/dogecoin in 6 months, let alone a year. :awwyeah:

I started with Localbitcoins then I transfered to btc-e.com then swtiched to LTC from there.

Razor Ramon HG 01-02-2014 11:54 PM

At the local BTC ATM, can I deposit money directly into a wallet of my choice (BTC-E) and then withdraw from that same ATM?

I never used it before and was just wondering how easy it would be to quickly trade on BTC-E and withdraw.

SkinnyPupp 01-02-2014 11:59 PM

I would recommend depositing to a wallet first, then BTC-E from there

Razor Ramon HG 01-03-2014 12:02 AM

Hmm, so basically at the ATM, I put in cash and I can choose to have it converted to BTC to a wallet of my choice or to make a new one? How would withdrawals work?

SkinnyPupp 01-03-2014 12:14 AM

You're not really "depositing" or "withdrawing". You are buying and selling CAD for BTC.

I've never done it but I assume they just print out a receipt with a private key, and from there you can spend the BTC anywhere you want. My suggestion is to transfer to another wallet (such as blockchain.info) and go from there.

BTW no matter what service you use (including Gmail) make sure you enable 2 factor authentication.

Bye Bye Script Mining.. (For guys at home with just 2 GPU's)

https://alpha-t.net/product/scrypt-asic-miner/

Ducdesmo 01-03-2014 07:29 AM

Doesnt seem to offer that much more advantages than regular GPUs...some power savings perhaps. 7 280x (if you can get it) will run you about $2450 and puts you in around 5MHs. I say GPU mining will be here to stay for at least the rest of 2014...
