This is why i never go to meets.
in order to stay out of trouble, you must keep youself away from the things that may/cause the trouble to begin with!

plus my car is too dirty n stock like :P

If I don't know anyone there, I ain't going and as a result, I don't get branded, having my car spilled all over the sidewalk or wrapped around a pole while being ridiculed on an online forum.

Happy meeting everyone! :)

Funny. You still get ridiculed on this online forum.

Spoiler!

Hey. So, an un-organized meet loosely planned at best has been taken over by a bunch of douchebags. Shocker.

Really couldn't plan anything better. No real organizer, a nice steady audience for assholes and so closely located next to a bridge to ....a place across the river ;)

these problems will continue if you let them. i've seen so many byrne meets done by different clubs time and time again, and have never seen or heard any of the shitshow that seems to be a weekly occurence now

Agreed. The meet isn't the problem. The problem is the minority of the population in the meet.
They need to learn to differ between a MEET and a SHOW.

The people who complain about their cars being stock or not showing up to meets because they don't want to show off their cars or for whatever reason, a meet doesn't always have to be about showing your car, reving your engine. This is a meet, not a show. A meet is for enthusiasts to meet other enthusiasts to share one another's experiences.

Sure you'd get attention if you rev your engine, but is that the type of attention you want? From the wrong type of people? (EG. Police) It doesn't differ if you have a stanced out car, a car with 9000HP, or a completely bone stock car with stickers, if you earn your respect as a person, or a driver alone, your car will get the attention too.

You want to show off your car? That's what DTP and ImportFest is for.
Your car doesn't qualify? Well reflect on why that it doesn't.

you really think those same idiots that rev/burnout/drift will care if we talk to them? no.

the meets were originally organized by me, back when they were 10-20 people, but they have grown significantly, and completely out of control. I am but a mere participant of the meets nowadays. I don't see a point of having to take up the responsibility to police all the people that do stupid shit, or pick up after their garbage. they should do it themselves.

before the meet turned huge with the influx of revscene, it was only us and the bcbimmer guys, and there were absolutely NO problems.

i am not a mom, i dont pick up after people's shit.

people just can't appreciate having nice things.

swfk 10-18-2013 05:55 PM

I feel that it got so big that it wasn't really our meet anymore. No one would listen to us. The amount of litter was already a problem.

Most of the idiots that do that stupid shit aren't even active on our Facebook group or on RS.

We did something, no one listened.

Calbeee 10-18-2013 05:57 PM

.

dvst8 10-18-2013 07:07 PM

LOL, I was planning on attending one day. Curious to know what's the average age group?

Prolowtone 10-18-2013 07:49 PM

I use to like the meets as they were a great place to make new friends and see some nice cars and the idiocy was usually pretty low. These meets have gotten pretty big in the last year and with it come more people with a "look at me/ love me attitude". Its hard to self-police meets as there are no real consequences to them just our group as a whole... Just take pics and if people want to act up report their plates or shame them with a post on FB, here and other car forums until at least a few of them get the point that it wont be tolerated.

Too bad i couldn't just use my tow strap and drag them away with my f150 :P

bcrdukes 10-18-2013 07:55 PM

The smaller, more intimate meets are better. This is how I learned that El Bastardo has a thing for gingers and his favourite colour is pastel green. The Stock and Noob meets got too big so I jumped ship.

El Bastardo 10-18-2013 08:06 PM

Serious question, can any of you bring a ginger to the next meet?

dinosaur 10-18-2013 08:14 PM

I enjoy my intimate meets with dukes :hotbaby:

I'll stop by a produce store on the way

Gridlock 10-18-2013 09:11 PM

Lol. Dukes, you basically just said that you were a part of it first when it was new and unheard of, and then it got big and mainstream.

Classic. Hipster.

:)

Okay new plan, next week everyone that reads RS park on the other side of the lot by starbucks...:fullofwin:

Next weeks meet is going to be huge, just cause of the influx of people wanting to see stupid shit. I'm coming just to see the aftermath of people getting impounded after leaving the lot at 100+.
