Was the only book I managed to read in high school. Fucking loved that shit!

Every so often I'll catch it on TV...so bad its good :D And yes, to this days "socs" still doesn't seem right, lol.

meme405 10-19-2013 12:21 AM

It is a really good book. I never have seen the whole movie... Should go back and watch it, come to think of it I should probably read the book again...

Prolowtone 10-19-2013 12:24 AM

I was going to quote the book over how nice the meets use to be. "Nothing gold can stay"

Thursday meets used to only be the actual people attending Thursday meets (~10 people?). Bcbimmers then had their meets there too, and slowly a few people from revscene came in. Then everyone decided to move their meets over to the same spot and it just grew from there as there were 20+ cars every single time from the 2 meets. Now I don't even always see the original bcbimmer crowd there anymore lol.

Something can be done, probably not the best way but if people would stop laughing at the ricers (strangely enough when people laugh the ricers don't actually know that the people are laughing at them), actually call them out for it. There are always a few people joking around saying something along the lines of "cool burnout bro" but the ricers are too retarded to understand the sarcasm. If more people would tell them to fuck off and stop being a fucking ricer with their shit box and no one cares how much smoke/noise they would make, just maybe they would eventually get the point and leave.

meme405 10-19-2013 12:55 PM

The burnouts, attempted drifting, and leaving the parking lot at 100+ km/h are stupid, and need to stop.

I'm not so offended by the revving, I mean we are called RevScene after all. This is of course given by the fact that its only a couple people doing the revving, I by no means want to hear more of it.

And no I do not rev my engine at meets.

!SG 10-19-2013 06:38 PM

this was never a revscene meet, it was a car meet of multiple different car clubs, it was mentioned on RS and gained ground.

sucks that this happened, hopefully the local businesses wont get too peeved off to ask the cops to start doing more than they are now to prevent the meet from happening.

always nice to run into old friends and customers of mine. most of them even remember my previous cars, and thus have grown up with them.

Limitless 10-19-2013 09:14 PM

I don't know, I'm personally not too fond of anyone revving. Having a bunch of modded cars roll in and out of one spot already draws enough attention without the extra noise. If it was at Adesa like the summer meets where it's more isolated from the public then it seems like it's a bit more acceptable. Personal opinion though of course.

dared3vil0 10-20-2013 04:18 PM

Damnit i was planning on come this thursday... Guess i won't now cause there will be a billion people there hoping for carnage. I may still show up. IDK. Maybe look for a fat white kid.

GabAlmighty 10-20-2013 06:22 PM

Well at least he provided entertainment for the evening. Even if the cops are going to be "lying in wait" for the next little bit it shouldn't be too big of an issue for most of "us" as we are responsbile car enthusiasts. Although, I do understand the hypocrisy of my statement as I may or may not have done ONE single donut in my old Volvo a few years back at a meet there...

Yodamaster 10-20-2013 08:48 PM

Could you guys stop shitting where I sleep? I'm going to have to watch out for surprise butt fuckings by the police when my Z is done, I'm literally down the road from this dickbaggery.

It's cool that there are car meets, but when it starts attracting attention from the police and the general public as being a nuisance, things need to be toned down.

swfk 10-21-2013 06:35 PM

Just wanna be clear guys, despite the one guy who made the wrong choice, these meets will continue to be held and as always, please keep the garbage in garbage bins, don't act like idiots but I know RS'ers know how to represent the local car scene, so the points are for the lurkers.

sonick 10-22-2013 11:18 AM

BCB = OG Market Crossing Thursday Meats

jACEDesignsLtd 10-22-2013 10:40 PM

My advice

1. If you really want to meet up with other true car enthusiasts, I would recommend choosing another spot. this one was great, central and has a lot of shops, but has grown too heat score to truly enjoy yourselves. unless u pull up stock.

2. The general public will lump all you "good" folks with the douchebags. They just will. human nature.

3. Most of the douchebags at the meets are not here on RS. They are too busy in real life being rebels. Even if you talk sense to them (I have did this once) and or yell at them.. it doesn't work. They just crave the attention

4. don't let this incident bring the car culture community down. There are way more sensible, good car enthusiasts than your typical fast and furious wanna be drifters

jsran 10-22-2013 10:42 PM

bcrdukes 10-23-2013 10:48 PM
