Use it for arena, and see how you do there. If you win at least 5 games, you will come out ahead. Otherwise you'll come out about even, or slightly below even since you get a pack every time anyway.

For me, I can't stand arena so I just buy packs. I actually got a few legendaries lately, which is amazing considering how many I have opened without getting any. I got a Tinkmaster, Greenskin, and a golden Jaraxxus which I disenchanted to make a Ragnaros.

Alby 07-27-2014 06:28 PM

naxx was a refresher, then it got bored again lol.

SkinnyPupp 07-27-2014 11:35 PM

Nax still has 3 more wings to come, how can it be past tense at all? :fulloffuck:

SoNaRWaVe 07-27-2014 11:53 PM

i'm sure he meant for what is available at the moment.

SkinnyPupp 07-28-2014 07:30 PM

I know but it's still pointless to draw conclusions when only 1/4 of the expansion has been released

ScizzMoney 07-28-2014 08:06 PM

Wait hasn't all the expansion been released? You just have to buy it if you want to play it all. I could be wrong though.

PuYang 07-28-2014 08:59 PM

I thought it was free? you just have to wait a week per section. or pay now if you don't want to wait. (atleast I hope thats how it is).

man, I'm getting stomped like crazy in most of my games. and the ones I win, are generally less stompy.

I keep going back into my deck to check what I can change, but feel like nothings really wrong with it...? of course I'm still newb ;p

the games where I get stomped, its always because I never draw anything that I need. And when I finally have a good combo up and going, the enemy somehow has a bunch of spells that counters everything. quite frustrating~

EDIT: woot, just went to play after posting this, and stomped 3 people xD! 2 of them gave up. All 3 enemies used up their cards so fast and had 0 cards until their turn. Where I had ~3-4 units wailing on them every turn xD

SkinnyPupp 07-28-2014 09:49 PM

They have 3 more coming out that will be released over the next 3 weeks (next one comes out in roughly 24 hours). Each one will come with (I think) 3 neutral minions, 2 class minions, and a legendary. They are $7 each or you can buy the remaining 3 for $20. Or you can buy for 700 gold each.

There are some cards coming that will change things a lot more. The first batch of cards weren't that important... Egg is obviously useful for zoo, and Weblord is good if you play against a lot of zoo. Poison Seeds is useless, and the 4 mana 5/5 for rogue isn't very useful.

The next legendary is a 5 mana 5/5 that increases the enemy's spell cost by 5 mana on that turn. So for instance if you're playing miracle, if they drop a gadget, all you have to do is put him down and you can block their entire gadget turn. It's obviously going to be useful to block soulfires, paladin heals, it will give you another turn to kill a mage, and so on.

Anyway go read the wiki, there's a lot to get excited about IMO. We only saw 6 cards of the 30 or whatever that will be released. Not every card is going to be useful, but a lot will.

Alby 07-28-2014 10:59 PM

whats the difference with the other wings that hasn't been released in week 1? gameplay remains the same. albeit, you get different cards as rewards and probably using different strategies to defeat bosses. i find that to be quite boring.

Different bosses that require different playing strats/mechanics and "reward" additional cards.

Basically....

4 More wings at $20 for all 4 or $7 each (First wing is free, which you are playing right now) or 700g per.

Each wing you buy/farm gold for, you WILL get 1 Legendary, 1 Blue and 2-3 Grey cards if you clear it. If I'm not mistaken, when you Kill KT in the last wing you will get an additional Legend (for clearing ALL 5 wings).

In addition, each wing will give you 2 Class challenge where they pre-select a deck for you , if you pass it, you get a Grey card for that class.

In summary, if you unlock the remaining 4 wings AND clear each boss once + clear all the class challenges you WILL get all these cards:

Hearthstone Cards

IMO, that is a sick deal. If you spend $20, you get to open 15 packs, and unless you are disgustingly lucky, you will most likely get 0 Legend, 1-2 Epics, ~20 Blues and tons of useless Greys. You will DE most of the useless/crap ones and end up with about 1-2 Epics and 5-10 Blues that are decent. The only catch is you can't DE Naxx cards as they are SB but there are enough decent ones for the gold/$$ + you get more content.

P.S. If you hate how the Arena is so RNG dependent, you should just save your daily quest gold for wings, each wing takes 7 days to open so you can easily gather the 700g (in a week, if not take your time, the game is not going anywhere) for basically a truly F2P game.

This deck crushes zoo:

Good thing too, because 8 of 10 games have been against zoo

If I had Grom he'd be there instead of Leeroy. Thinking of using something other than a finisher though.. don't get enough value from leeroy usually

SkinnyPupp 07-31-2014 06:43 PM

Queueing into zoo 80% of the time right now. As good as this deck is against them, FUCK zoo. God dammit

PuYang 08-02-2014 06:42 PM

Well, ranked games (atleast rank 25 lol) is MUCH easier than Casual games.

Just played 2 ranked games, and both enemies made really really simple mistakes. (like summoning charge units and ending their turn without even attacking. Or wasting spells and attacks on my unit that they weren't even focusing down that turn).

Casual games on the other hand, I only win like 3-4 out of 10. Most of the opponents have really nice cards and I've seen my fair share of "OP" legendaries...

I'm saving to open more Naxx, so I haven't been able to open any packs. Seems I'm lacking alot of the very useful lowcost units my opponents all seem to have >:|

Gerbs 08-02-2014 06:47 PM

Lol played arena both me and opponent had 1 health. Drew a mad bomber and i died.

Casual has a lot of somewhat experienced players messing around with experimental decks, or doing dailies without risking rank. Rank 25 on the other hand are where complete new players start, and casuals who can't be bothered to fully learn the game

PuYang 08-03-2014 02:24 PM

Haha yeah it appears that way, although I sorta take that back. My third ranked match (still 25) was against a Druid who played 3-4 legendaries and 1 epic. Wouldn't be surprised if he had more in his deck.

I ended up losing that one of course; used up my Polymorphs and Fireballs on 2 legendaries and his epic, and some other strong units. Never woulda guessed he had more legendaries every turn >:|

Energy 08-03-2014 02:37 PM

I hit rank 3 last season but couldn't quite make legend because I didn't have enough time to play. Haha hopefully I finally get to legend this season.

I'm 11-1 against Hunters with this Paladin secrets list:

In fact the only time I lose is against heavy taunt lists (Druid) or just when I get a shit draw.

how's your experience using mukla? he was my first legendary..and then i dusted it later on to craft a rag. sometimes i wonder how viable he is in a deck considering the drawbacks of the 2 bananas.

SkinnyPupp 08-26-2014 10:28 AM

Mukla has been OK when played on an empty board... Still deciding if he's worth it - considering using a Shade of Naxx instead.

SkinnyPupp 08-29-2014 07:20 AM

This deck is doing great for me:

http://i.imgur.com/f2Ylw44.jpg

First time playing Druid consistently, just got my 15th win with that character (I think I have 150 with my highest now? Not sure)

It does well against Huntards and zoo. I even out-controlled a control warrior, and out-token'd a shaman. I never thought I'd like a minion control deck so much, but it's quite fun. Halfway through rank 6 which is my highest so far IIRC

SkinnyPupp 08-30-2014 01:34 AM

When bad play saves your life...

After playing hunter 5 times in a row, I decided to bring out the Huntard Hunter deck. (unfortunately I didn't queue into a single one after that...).

Went up against this priest, got him down pretty well using secrets and aggro. Unfortunately I didn't draw any of my draw cards by turn 8 (there was a 7.8% of this happening) so I stalled out. I did have Leeroy in hand though... All I needed was a buff to finish him off.

http://i.imgur.com/A8k2ayZ.jpg

He managed to clear my board with holy nova and wild pyro. With 2 mana left, he decided to not play around consecration or avenging wrath, and instead healed himself. With no opposing board, and no cards in my hand.

http://i.imgur.com/X9YsP1z.jpg

Sure enough his choice ended up being correct, since I would have drawn lethal that turn. He proceeded to PW: Shield his middle guy. He did this before attacking and without healing his pyro. So he lost 2 minions, missed 6 damage. He healed himself again.

http://i.imgur.com/iV900ar.jpg

Sure enough, healing himself to 13 put him out of lethal range of my topdeck again.

At this point, there was a 2.9% chance of me NOT drawing one of my draw cards, so I just gave up.
