anyone gonna try secret juice when costa gets approval to release in N.America? :lol

Bender Unit 05-31-2024 10:52 AM

Let all in Paula :D together

SkinnyPupp 06-01-2024 09:12 PM

Good effort by Dustin

whitev70r 06-01-2024 09:14 PM

Yah, took him to the 5th ... lots of blood on both sides, lots of respect too.

$20 million gate at risk of falling apart (that's Super Bowl level of ticket sales btw, in case you were wondering if Conor is still a draw)

MarkyMark 06-05-2024 09:44 AM

What's the draw of this guy still, he hasn't won a fight since a washed up Cerrone over four years ago. At least in his prime his press conferences were golden, now he doesn't even hype up a fight anymore.

SkinnyPupp 06-05-2024 02:43 PM

People still see him as a star, simple as that

The weird Russian buzz cut neckbeard guys are tremendous fighters, but not big stars

Here's the latest

SkinnyPupp 06-13-2024 04:10 PM

This show is expected to make $160 million with the gate, ppv, sponsorships, etc. The biggest UFC shows these days do around $60 million (which is still amazing but nowhere near as insane as a Conor show).

So you can see why he's holding out LUL

SkinnyPupp 06-13-2024 07:57 PM

"Postponed due to injury"

$20 million of refunds will be offered, which is insane (by law they have to)

mikemhg 06-14-2024 10:14 AM

I doubt Connor will step in the MMA ring again, what's the point?

Pereira and Jiri is a great replacement fight though.

murd0c 06-14-2024 01:28 PM

I guess that needle poked him a little too hard...

What's the point, he can draw $100 million over what a standard UFC show does

mikemhg 06-14-2024 04:33 PM

Ya but that's assuming that's the PPV split he's getting there with ownership.

We have no idea what that is.

Takes a lot more than a 70/30 split to get this guy into the ring for a potential loss when he's already making buckets based on his business deals externally.

I have a feeling they agreed on a split prior to the resulting gate/PPV sales, and now that he's seeing the amount of money on the table, he wants to change that arrangement.

Dana being Dana is likely saying "fuck that".

Or Connor is just an addict, and he was never going to fight from the start (which I think is doubtful).

SkinnyPupp 06-15-2024 05:54 AM

It's probably a drug test failure, and since it's UFC doing the testing now instead of USADA, they can just hide it behind an injury story. They will lose tens of millions, but under USADA would have lost much more.

It's a dirty disgusting company. The dirt worst

GLOW 07-01-2024 08:52 AM

anyone catch ufc 303?
a lot of older fighters were on the card: michelle waterson (who retired after), arvlovski, cub, smith

jiri vs alex was entertaining. guy's a beast.

whitev70r 07-01-2024 01:28 PM

Just saw the highlights ... Pereira is getting better and better. Would like to see him go heavyweight and figh Jones

UFC posted the finish themselves

mikemhg 07-02-2024 11:07 AM

Pereira is a monster, he's walking through guys, that left hook is unavoidable.

GLOW 07-03-2024 03:52 PM

i know there's some WWE fans here since there's the other thread, but did anyone catch Rei Tsuruya was cornered by Shinsuke Nakamura? would have been cool if he came out to his music and did the walkout :lol

never thought of seeing KO's in sumo, but i did a google search and a highlight clip of a guy that used it several times, it was called death touch :lol i guess b/c it's an open hand strike

anyone catch jake paul vs mike perry?

connor 'fired' him from bkfc after :lol such a :troll:

whitev70r 07-22-2024 07:33 AM

Are Jake Paul fights like WWE for boxing where it's all show and the results are pre-determined. Like Paul writes it into contract of opponents?

It's predetermined in a way yes, as he doesn't ever box with anyone who trains boxing full time.

The boxer vs MMA thing is dying a death. Nick Diaz just did a match that didn't draw a dime, and says the promoter stiffed him $10 million lol
