i don't know anything about TRT, so you guys are saying he was still on it for training (b/c he's on a cycle?) and he was trying to get off of it 'come off cycle' in time for his fight?

raysquared 06-11-2014 05:11 PM

Sonnen retires.

Sonnen Retires at 37 | UFC &reg - News

murd0c 06-11-2014 05:48 PM

What a bitch way to go out but then again I'm not surprised at all

SkinnyPupp 06-11-2014 06:30 PM

Technically everyone who had to take TRT should be retiring. If they couldn't fight without it then, they can't without it now, and are all on steroids illegally.

411ken 06-11-2014 06:38 PM

I don't blame him one bit. He's 37. Just got married and wants to start a family etc. He made a shitload of money with silva x 2 and Jon Jones. I'm sure ufc will give him a job as well. Not a bitch move imo but smart

Another hit to the ufc entertainment that's for sure

Ch28 06-11-2014 06:41 PM

Chael has a great future on Fox or with the UFC. He won't need to worry about being out of a job or money anytime soon.

MarkyMark 06-11-2014 07:57 PM

Yeah Chael has the gift of the gab to fall back on, these other guys who were on TRT might be in a bit more trouble.

Wand has his gym
Hendo has his h-bomb
Vitor has his wife
Bigfoot has his head

SkinnyPupp 06-11-2014 08:04 PM

Out of the 20 or so guys who had a TUE, Chael definitely has the brightest future. Mir will be OK too.. I doubt we'll ever see him fight again anyway

Official MMA Thread - *Spoilers*

Anyone know what time or what's going on with the weigh-ins this Friday??

murd0c 06-12-2014 06:45 AM

doors normally open around 3 and its free

GLOW 06-12-2014 06:54 AM

chael's a good commentator. i like how he speaks his mind and is frank at times. the interview with shogun he said that he straight up caught him with a lucky choke. if they fought 10 more times he'd never be able to do that move on him again.

never thought i'd say it but i'm rooting for rory :lol

Weigh ins @ Rogers Arena this time around.

115 was @ Rogers Arena and 131 was @ Canada Place

Go line up early if you want to have close seats for pictures and to possibly be on camera.

Had VIP Access to a UFC event at work today. Got to see an open workout and take pics with a bunch of the fighters.

Tyron Woodley is an absolute beast.

wingies 06-12-2014 03:39 PM

Tyrone woodley is one of those guys i see and I think "he fights 170?" :fuckthatshit:

murd0c 06-12-2014 04:45 PM

My buddy has been training with Woodley and I'm surprised how short he is, fricken scary guy. I like Rory but wouldn't mind seeing Woodley win.

Seats

Is it just me or when they show the fighters there are lots of empty seats in the background.

Ch28 06-14-2014 08:09 PM

They had a horrible time selling tickets for this PPV.

Tickets were being sold on TEAMBUY hahahaha

vafanculo 06-14-2014 10:02 PM

I just came back from the event. The seats weren't packed, but it also wasn't that empty either. I think the reason it appears empty on TV during the fighter intros, is because as soon as one fight finishes, half the ppl get up to get beer or go washroom.

I've lost interest in mma over the past 2 years, and the card was kinda wack. Bs call on the arlovski fight, and was nice to see how crazy the crowd got for Rory. Too bad I had to leave right before the main event grr

Also, not sure if its the same everywhere, but man, felt like I was in a prison with all the tattied up douchebags

RRxtar 06-14-2014 10:44 PM

Official attendance was 13500. Definitely a lot of empty seats. Most of the pub I was at left by round 2 of the might mouse fight. Nobody cares about the FW did regardless of how good mm is.

Holy shit was it a boring card too. But rory shut Woodley down good. I think he needs 1 more fight before a title fight.

murd0c 06-14-2014 11:23 PM

3rd fight in Vancouver and the 3rd shitty card, I never even went since I didn't want to waste $65 on even nose bleeds. If they give us a good card Rogers arena will be packed

You got a pic with Joe Rogan, so it's all good.
