I'm just not happy because they didn't take each other out

Yes. If Nico took both drivers out, he'd be singing a different tune.

I think there's some misinterpretation within the media.

Nico isn't dumb enough to admit that he intentionally booped Hamilton, and Hamilton isn't dumb enough to make that shit up or leak that kind of information to the media.

We'll see in Italy.

Mercedes duo remain free to race after Rosberg apology

Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton will continue to race each other for the 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship after Mercedes held ‘clear the air’ talks with the pair regarding their clash in Belgium.

During a meeting at Mercedes’ UK headquarters on Friday attended by both drivers as well as head of motorsport Toto Wolff and executive director (technical) Paddy Lowe, Rosberg "acknowledged his responsibility for the contact that occurred on lap two of the Belgian Grand Prix and apologised for this error of judgement".

In a statement issued by the team, Mercedes made it clear that while it would not be issuing team orders, "suitable disciplinary measures have been taken for the incident" and further contact between the two men would not be accepted.

“Mercedes-Benz remains committed to hard, fair racing because this is the right way to win world championships,” the statement read. “It is good for the team, for the fans and for Formula One.

“Lewis and Nico understand and accept the team's number one rule: there must be no contact between the team's cars on track. It has been made clear that another such incident will not be tolerated. But Nico and Lewis are our drivers and we believe in them.”

Despite sustaining front wing damage in the incident, Rosberg went on to finish second at Spa-Francorchamps, whilst Hamilton retired after sustaining damage limping back to the pits with a puncture.

The result enabled Rosberg to extend his championship lead over Hamilton to 29 points with seven races remaining.

RICCIARDO has officially became one of my favorite drivers :) That guy is fast and fearless!

He put on a clinic on how to overtake today. The move he pulled on Vettel was BRILLIANT!

Ricciardo 2015 WDC! You heard it here first!

mb_ 09-07-2014 07:45 PM

I laughed at people who said Ricciardo would have a better year than Vettel.. I take that back..

Speed2K 09-07-2014 10:07 PM

Good race, sucks for Alonso, I feel for all the disappointed Ferrari fans!

Pooface55 09-08-2014 07:37 AM

Wow Ricicardo. The guy is legit. Great moves and clean as well.

Starting to not like Magnussen. Drives dirty IMO

Michael Schumacher heads home from hospital

GLAND, Switzerland (AP) -- Former Formula One champion Michael Schumacher has left a Swiss hospital and will continue his recovery at home, his manager said Tuesday.

The seven-time F1 champion suffered a serious head injury while skiing in France at the end of December.

''Considering the severe injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the past weeks and months,'' his manager, Sabine Kehm, said in a statement. ''There is still, however, a long and difficult road ahead.''

Schumacher was transferred to a hospital in Lausanne in June, after six months at a hospital in France. Kehm said he was now at his home in Gland, near Geneva, without specifying when the move happened or giving details about his current condition.

''We ask that the privacy of Michael's family continue to be respected, and that speculations about his state of health are avoided,'' Kehm said.

Schumacher's accident happened on a family vacation as he was skiing with his 14-year-old son at the Meribel ski resort in the French Alps.

The avid skier hit the right side of his head on a rock, cracking his helmet. Doctors operated to remove blood clots from his brain, but some were left because they were too deeply embedded.

Schumacher's condition stabilized after he was placed in a drug-induced coma, from which he has since emerged.

as for Luca that's been expected for awhile, Marchionne hates him

Anyone watch the first race of the FIA Formula E Series (in Beijing)?
Boring as fcuk until the last turn of the last lap.....when the first and second place car gets tangled up. They really need to get rid of that sausage curb:

radioman 09-14-2014 08:52 AM

I watched it as well.

Hardly any over taking and cars seem incredibly slow. Might be the fact that they were using a bad road course.

Switching cars half way also gives it that gimmicky feel.

Info on "coded messages": BBC Sport - Formula 1: Teams can not use coded messages on drivers' radios

Quote:

What teams cannot tell their drivers:

Sector time detail of a competitor or where he is faster or slower

Adjustment of power-unit or gearbox settings

Information on fuel flow or fuel saving

Clutch maps and settings, including for the start

Brake balance or brake-by-wire

Answering a driver's direct question

Information on tyre pressures

Balancing the state of battery charge or adjusting it for performance

Anything that sounds like a coded message
Quote:

What teams can tell their drivers

Their own lap or sector time detail

A competitor's lap time

Gaps to a rival

Telling them to push hard, or who they are racing

Warning of a puncture

Tyre choice at the next pit stop

The number of laps a rival has done on a set of tyres in a race, and the type of tyre he is on

Information about a problem with a competitor's car

The safety car

Driving offences by a rival

Front wing settings at the next pit stop

Track condition or weather

Team orders

Information on damage to the car or need to retire

Number of laps remaining
Lol, I guess these changes could make things a little more interesting.

'anything that sounds like a coded message' hmm guess that will make things tricky

Q: (David Croft - Sky Sport) Will that be the end of 'hammer time'?
CW: You never know.
DC: Is hammer time allowed? Is that a coded message?
CW: I think that's push hard isn't it.
DC: But surely it requires the adjustment of settings?
CW: To be discussed. That's not for this current crop of rules but I think now we have a little bit more time we can discuss these things with the teams and hammer time might come into it!
