That's a fair point. I was thinking of Lewis and Seb during the past 3 or 4 years. I've been watching every F1 season since I was a kid. Hard to believe that LH's rookie season was 7 years ago now. I still think of him as a relatively young driver.

Part of me thinks that F1 management had some backroom deals with Mercedes when they were dreaming up the rule changes.

This

it was pretty much set the last year/two that Merc bought this season
and getting away with the testing last year pretty much confirmed it for me

mb_ 05-10-2014 10:23 AM

Feels like it's been forever since the last race

Hamilton/Rosberg top 2 (surprise surprise)
Vettel with problems all weekend, starting 15th tomorrow

Not really racist! 05-10-2014 12:15 PM

lol @ that performance difference

i was like notbad.jpg when Riccardo was only .100 off of Hamilton's time.. then they put on a fresh set and actually pushed, over 1 second+ quicker

and to know most teams have been testing with new parts since they're closer to home the past few weeks too

seasons a total write off

HonestTea 05-11-2014 03:57 AM

Anyone awake and watching?

mb_ 05-11-2014 04:14 AM

Lol, it felt like I was waiting forever before I saw Ricciardo finally cross the finish line & I couldn't believe it when I saw the silver arrows pass Raikonen near the end of the race.

I was hoping Rosberg would catch & pass Hamilton though.

Z3guy 05-12-2014 07:18 AM

^ Rosberg is a very skillful driver who can drive fast laps. He was faster at Bahrain and Spain but doesn't have the killer instinct to pass. From what I have been reading, it seems like Rosberg is benefitting allot from analyzing Hamilton's data.

Pooface55 05-12-2014 11:57 AM

Lapped cars up to P7

I hope Rosberg can take the fight to Hamilton. Otherwise its gonna be a boring season.

Nico Rosberg has retained pole position for Sunday's race in Monaco after the stewards decided that his off-track moment during the third and final part of qualifying did not require further action.

The Mercedes driver faced investigation after sliding down the escape road at Turn 5 (Mirabeau) during his final flying lap, bringing out yellow flags that prevented those behind - including team mate Lewis Hamilton - from improving.

Rosberg held provisional pole at the time of the incident, with his first run having produced a lap just five-hundredths of a second faster than Hamilton's.

Rosberg subsequently apologised for his mistake, while Hamilton insisted he had been "on target" to beat the German to pole before being forced to abandon his lap.

"The stewards examined video and telemetry data from the team and FIA and could find no evidence of any offence related to the turn 5 incident," read a statement from the stewards.
