it's a beautiful car but $80k in the 90's..

I remember in 94' when my mom wanted to upgrade her 91' Supra to the new spec, and it was close to $65k from Langley Toyota. She bought a 7 series BMW instead...

Langley Toyota sat on that Supra for years. If I remember correct, they had it after the Supra had stopped being imported. Thanks to a low Canadian dollar, and a high yen at the time, the Supra was a victim of the financial markets.

ouch. choosing a 7-series over a supra... which one is worth more now? :(

originalhypa 01-15-2014 10:58 AM

Other than a 16 y/o hypa not getting to rip around in his mom's auto Supra, it wasn't too much of a loss :lol

She loved the 7 series and had it for years, until some old lady crashed into it in Bellingham when she mistook the gas for the brake pedal. She destroyed that car. That said the mk4 wasn't a "mom's car". She would have put a ton of miles on it, changed the oil every 10,000km and generally would have driven it into the ground.

Tegra_Devil 01-15-2014 11:01 AM

I could only wish this would go for 50K

GTR is ugly. It also looks really cheap.

"Elegant" is not a word for the GTR.

The GTR is a soulless, computer automated car that your grandma could hit an 11 second quarter-mile with launch control and all driver-aids on

yeah thats what i meant. i believe the one on ferrari is actual exhaust, not the exhaust tip is bumper integrated.

a lot of other manufactures do that just like lexus, i believe lexus was the first one...they're not actual exhaust like ISF,

Toyota just released the updated exterior and interior FT1 for Pebble Beach. Looks quite good also it would share powertrain with the next BMW Z4. So I think it is likely it will have torque filling tech like i8 etc. I don't know how they would price it though.. the i8 is not exactly expensive, 130k.

I love the simplistic interior.. no huge LCD to distract driver while driving in the dark.

worried that the bean counters will make it end up like this when it is finally released (from facebook)...

radioman 08-15-2014 09:24 AM

This is going to be very expensive!

It's going to be great to see the NSX and Supra reincarnate battle it out.

TjAlmeida 08-15-2014 09:26 AM

I don't know. Seeing how well the FR-S turned out i have high hopes they will keep close 'ish' to the concept form. Except the interior probably.

hud 91gt 08-15-2014 09:35 AM

Z4 powertrain? I'm hoping Z4 pricing.

GotRice? 08-15-2014 10:00 AM

i don't know man... they tone down the corolla from the concept just enough that it doesn't really look that exciting.. i hope they don't do that with the new supra.. lol...

hud 91gt 08-15-2014 10:54 AM

Doesn't look that different to me, besides a flashy colour, some wheels and some minor changes. The FT-1 still needs a little bit of toning down anyhow.

shenmecar 08-15-2014 11:06 AM

That side profile is so nice.

multicartual 08-15-2014 12:35 PM

Any bets on cost? I'm thinking 100k+

BBMme 08-15-2014 09:36 PM

sounds about right, going against the gtr and future nsx

twitchyzero 09-30-2016 10:19 PM

hope it sounds better than that

kinda reminds me of a 3kgt

Nlkko 10-01-2016 10:09 AM

Looks like an electric car or at least hybrid, which is a good thing.
