2009 Audi A3 S-Line, Quattro, 197K kms, $7800. Basically a 2009 VW GTI with Quattro/AWD ... for this price, decent deal. Can't even find an 09 GTI for less than $8K.

We've got a surplus in manual TSXs at a good price all of a sudden. If I didn't work downtown now and only needed 1 car I'd probably snap that up as my 2nd ride.

TouringTeg 05-11-2019 07:06 PM

For the Z32 fans 91 300ZX TT manual, yellow 189kms, some mods $13k

Maybe I'm missing something, but the tsx always seemed underpowered with not much torque. I never understood the appeal.

i remember being obsessed with the TSX

now that i'm an older fart i don't see why the manual version are supposedly the only way to go (rare doesn't always translate to higher resale)

if we got the Euro-R as a Type-S then hell yes manual no doubt..but a fairly plain jane Accord, i'd take an auto

now if you swap that k24 into a lighter chassis... SeemsGood

By my car ownership history you'll see I'm a "Drive slow cars fast" guy instead of "Drive fast cars slow" guy so the TSX is mostly quick enough for me. For a NA 4 cylinder it's torquey and revs like a Honda should. It was more fun to drive than the TL of the same era, had a slightly nicer interior (the TL's non-nav centre dash was hideous though the Type-S seats were way better), and was just really well screwed together.

I've had my auto TSX for 8 years and it's been a great DD - it's noisy on the highway but otherwise it's still a great car to drive as a DD. Comfortable, easy to own, seats 5 in a pinch, nothing breaks, small enough for any parking spot. It's a way better car than the CSX is (which sells used now for about the same money).

The manual is a terrific gearbox though and really makes it a lot more fun, if my wife could drive one I would have found my way to a manual one a long time ago. You can rev the hell out of it in the city without having your license revoked.

For about $6-9K it hits a bunch of nice "must-haves" for a slightly nicer DD that's practical. (Similar cars are V6 Accords, Jetta GLIs, Legacy GTs, Mazda 6)

^^how is the mpg in the city? Is it a pig because of small motor heavy car?

^ I was getting 11-13.5l /100km mostly city driving with a 6spd 06 facelift. keep in mind it runs premium too. car was well maintained. Wouldn't say it was fantastic on gas but was pretty reliable in terms of running costs.

hud 91gt 05-12-2019 11:50 AM

I liked my TSX, but it’s looks are all it had. For the year it looked quite modern (2004). It really wasn’t great on gas. It was too big to be fun. But it was comfortable for a DD. Certainly didn’t feel “quick.”

But it looked nice!

Badhobz 05-12-2019 12:04 PM

Dynamically was it on par with a E46 or an e90 ? I've only driven one for short periods of time and it never seems to make any sense compared to the German rivals. Other than reliability and good looks, it seemed to have sold more on the JDM cachet and the euro accord moniker

westopher 05-12-2019 01:15 PM

Remember to buy new I’m sure it was 20-30% less off the lot than it’s getman rivals.
