Are subframe mounting point cracking issues common with run-of-the-mill E46's?

Yes, especially with early model 328/330. That said, I tracked mine and I was fine without doing a reinforcement on it. It's a hit or miss.

Paging GS8

Seems like a decent deal for a cheap to maintain american semi-luxo-barge with the 3.8L supercharged engine, low km and only a couple of cosmetic issues noted in the ad.

I think the e46 market is at the bottom right now.

Give it another 3 - 5 years or so it’ll be like the e30 market.

Oxford Green is one of my favorite BMW colors. Slightly biased

50,000 KM on this one.. hopefully that is legit but it's JDM so doesn't surprise me.

Pricing is crazy high
But wow, rare combination and a really high spec

Targa 4 GTS
Low KMs
Manual
PCCB
With Exclusive Manufaktur interior and Burmester Sound.

Other than GT cars Targas probably hold their values the best.

That JDM E39 has been selling for years, no one wants average spec, rhd auto BMW that you can get here, plus it's a pre face lift.

that is SICK. much prefer this to an e36/46 swap for some reason.

get rid of the heinous wheels and tint and find something OEM.

wonder how many miles on the swap? I would never buy a swap car that didn't have 10k+ kms under it's belt

That is pretty sick... wish he stuck with a LS though instead of the LQ series

LQ does respond well to mods, but it doesn't appear to have any mods beyond the intake manifold, so only ~300hp stock

Wagons usually go for around double over the same spec/milage sedan, as far as the basic BMWs go anyways.

I can see why with the E30...... I've seen so many E30 wagons that look crazy good and prices in Europe reflect the desire for them.

A high mileage E46 XI leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth at this point... I'm sure they'll come around though. The winds of time be a shifting haha

I wouldn't want a high milage XI at any price. Tons of driveshaft/CV issues that are basically just consumables at this point, and they tend to be in much rougher condition than their RWD counterparts. Rough e46s can get VERY expensive compared to what they are worth, but that said, my 323 wagon started out in good shape and has been SO easy to deal with. We paid 4k for it, although its pretty high milage at 245k when we got it, but I think it would be a good buy these days at $6500+

The targa is so ugly. You’ve got to really want that broken up roof line look to go with that over a cab or even the full convertible. It just looks so off to me

It cost 7k more for me to build my perfect, straight off the lot 2021 gt3. I don't understand the value in that car at all, and I love the Targa.

Because Porsche won't sell you one unless you already have a GT car at home.

Today, maybe not, but the regular gt3 isn't limited and people didn't struggle to get allocations on them after a while for the 991.2. Not to mention Porsche isn't happy about the way people were selling allocations and selling well over MSRP, so I'm confident there's ways to get it. Either way, I'm not a player in the game, but I sure as shit could find a gt3 for 200k that's a lot cooler than that targa.

I don't disagree. I mean $200K for a targa that's only going to be street driven. At least with a GT3, you can take it to the track as well as the local Starbucks to get a coffee.

IMO, the current new-ish pre-owned 911 and Caymans are all overpriced. You can spec a brand new factory order yourself with 0km + a full warranty (4 yrs?) for potentially less money. The only catch is -- you're probably gonna have to wait for a solid 8+ months, if not longer before the car arrives.
