That black one you posted seems like a way better deal than the original one posted. 8k more gets you an S and a clutch pedal as well as a better options list.

So you are into Manuel's. :awwyeah:

But yeah $8K more gets you an S with a 3.4 vs a turbo4 and a lot better options.

That Manuel S sure is a nice package... I've never been much a fan of black on black on black but someone is going to snap that up pretty quick I think.

This Audi S4 has very much caught my attention, love the blue and the RS wheels... but actually I have no idea if the price is too high or not, I think it is a bit high, there aren't any comparables currently on CL besides a lower mileage 2014 that's only $3,500 more... if it had a Manuel in it I'd probably be calling the guy to at least see if there's negotiation room haha:

I think that Manuel S was originally listed at a higher price -- I can't remember whether it was $70k or $72k, and I don't remember when the ad first came up, but I think it has to be well over 2 weeks.

Except for sound, I'd say a base 718 is every bit as engaging as to drive as a 981S, and the two cars are really a lot more alike than you'd think. A 981S has a slightly more responsive throttle, but it has way less torque under 4k rpm. A base 718 is gutless under 2.5k rpm, but more than makes up for it by the time you reach 3k rpm. Even the throttle response is very, very good as long as you keep the revs over 3k.

Note that I am not saying "throttle response is very good for a turbo car" -- I'm saying "throttle response is very good above 3k rpm", period.

But OMG... those turbo 4's sound absolutely horrible, esp when the flat 6 from the generation before sound absolutely gorgeous.

Never bought a convertible before but do you guys know what months would be best for buying one?

It was listed at $75K on FBM.

That being said, there was more demand for the 3.4 flat 6 motor as most P lovers have a tough time with the turbo 4. I think when we come out of the crazy times, the bottom might drop on the 718's but at this point it's just a wild guess.

Typically in the middle of winter, but your options will also be limited as most people sell in the fall or spring.

What car are you looking for?

Ive had 7

Theres no such thing as "best months to buy"
But yes as states above, "generally" prices are cheaper in winter.
That said, there is way more selection in summer.
The car you really want > saving money

+1 I'd also argue that prices really aren't that great either during the winter because less competition means that sellers can list it at whatever they want.

I think this is a pretty good deal. Very rare to see a Manuel NC2 PRHT for $13.4k. If it was in the lower mainland, I would def check this one out.

fliptuner 08-28-2021 10:24 AM

Not a car but free 3 burner Weber in N. Van

Is that really a "Good Buy"? :suspicious:

68style 08-30-2021 02:50 PM

I can’t believe that car has 160,000km on it given the cleanliness of it.

Traum 08-30-2021 03:26 PM

Whoa damn~

Seeing it in a showroom like that makes me feel like I just got transported back in time when I first came to Canada in the 80's...

CorneringArtist 08-30-2021 05:11 PM

One of my clients has a 2002 Toyota Echo with 62,000km on it. Echos won't die as it is, but with mileage that low, it will survive several generations with how clean it is.

This thread has LONG past a 'Good Buy' thread. It's more of a cars of interest thread.

SkunkWorks 08-30-2021 08:41 PM

What's sick is they probably gave the elderly owner $500 trade-in value for that.

trollface 08-31-2021 07:21 AM

Probably?

westopher 08-31-2021 07:34 AM

They waived the $299 doc fee for the car.

Hey!

Free all-weather mats and a free oil change too.

68style 08-31-2021 03:58 PM

This could be a fun little project, C70 coupe... although if the window motors are blown I believe I have read online that they're either impossible to get or extremely costly... but hey it's less than $2k and low mileage:
