Probably throw out bearing.

Might as well put a new clutch in it while at it. Plenty of driving left for that car.

Nice price. Rare Color.

Guys, a Fit should have the same quality of sound deadening as a Rolls Royce.

No, Badhobz. No!

That Fit deserves better and not an unsightly death!

How bad was the driving? Did he have an instructor onboard with him?

I think the fact he hit a tree that wasn't even on the track is a pretty good answer to the "how bad" question hahaha

HEY NAO! be nice GAIS!

He's still reeling from the accident. To this day, he asks for a fork at Chinese restaurants because he doesn't want to strain his hand tendon.

As for how badly he drove..... he does have the dash cam but he refuses to show me so I guess.. uhhhh

It was an autocross event from that BMW club. I don't know if they need to have an instructor around for an autocross, but I don't think so. He was the only one in the car when he binned it

What the fuck happened anyways? he blames his traction control, I blame his old ass tires, but nobody knows what the real story was.

the start is basically the straightaway that runs parallel to the river on the kart track

to stop people from getting going too fast the club sets of a slalom

your buddy got to about the 3rd cone on cold (and old?) tires and lifted. I'm not even sure if it wasn't his first lap. it was early anyways. cold and rainy too.

he never really came back to the pits and we were kept away from the accident. He waved that he was OK. The car sure wasn't. Looks soft, but the old stumps that kept him out of the drink stove in the whole side of the car.

Combo of talent and conditions I would say. It's easy to see the red mist - but that little track is fucking shitty. I haven't been back since and I don't think I will.

It's sadly the only game in town for auto-x in Vancouver now that Adesa is chock-full of EVs. Also, driver error - even with traction control you still have to know the car's limits because you can't cheat physics in the end.

I've been once on a Miata event last last year. A guy I just met let me rag on his Miata which was super nice of him. We both almost put it into the same light pole on the same turn as the combination of the setup and ground transition put the car into a drift during the slalom.

I haven't gone since and don't plan on going again because my F80 really is a tad too big for that track, and driving 90mins there and 90mins back for 6 minutes of seat time, and wasting a whole day really isn't my idea of great ROI.

It was supposed to be at ADESA this year until the surplus EVs took over. ADESA I would go because it's a 10-15min drive depending on traffic.

Anyways, back on topic

Is this a good deal? Looks like a well sorted cruiser. Don't try to track these 135i though, they will just heatsoak and cook everything and you'll be swapping parts and consumables all the time.

The N55 is supposed to be more reliable than the N54 but that's a pretty low bar. Just how reliable overall is the N55 with the more simplified design?

They're starting to puke bottom end bearings, long blocks are 8k USD at junkyards.

N54 might actually be more reliable since you're just replacing everything attached to the engine.

Where do you even buy parts for that, similar to Alfa level? At least Alfa still exists.

I mean his hand did require some 2x surgeries so I shouldn’t laugh at him. I thought that safety glass would be safe. How the hell did it sever a tendon in his hand?!?

Anyways I bet he’s having a hard time jerking off now

Does this 2018 911T (35,000km) seem to be really well priced? I'd like the 18 way Sport Plus seats but otherwise this seems like a good deal.
I've looked into Porsches from Quebec and Ontario, and for whatever reason, Quebec generally seems to have them cheaper by something in the 3 - 8% range. They also tend to be higher mileage than BC cars though.

Unless you plan on flying there to pick up the car, and and treat the return drive as your cross Canada adventure though, personally, I generally don't think the hassle and extra transportation costs are enough to justify the slightly lower purchase price, at least, not in the Cayman price ranges that I was looking at.

Don't quote me but I think shipping across the country is about $2k? So you'll have to factor that in. Tofu may know better since he's much more versed in dealing with stuff like this.

I thought it was generally not a good idea to buy used cars from QC because of how accidents are recorded.

It is possible, but likely shipped on open train exposed to the elements, so you have to be okay with this. Closed carrier professional truck transport is around $3K door to door, give or take a few hundred.

Source: I've shipped several cars over the past few years.

This. You have to really do your due diligence or just truly trust the process and integrity of the seller. Some good cars can be had at reputable dealers like Porsche Lauzon. The Rennsport Region PCA guys are loaded so they go through cars like crazy or get themselves in situations where they can't enjoy the car due to noise limits (looking at you, Le Circuit Mont Tremblant!)
