Well, if the 17k hit was back in like 2001, i wouldn't be all that concerned about it AS LONG as it was repaired PROPERLY, as any problems associated with the accident would of likely been discovered and repaired over the last 13 years... :concentrate:

Not necessarily. When dealing with a bent or twisted unibody frame the tolerances are not exact; only within a certain spec. So everything could be out slightly but the average person wouldn't really notice. eg: a friend bought an E36 M3 years back without pulling a dec check. We tried to install a front STB and it was off slightly. We thought huh, weird. I ended up pulling a check and low and behold it had a $10K+ hit on the front end. Fixed by ICBC accredited shop and all. Again, it's all tolerances; no exact black and white.

4k is pretty good, get a 6v to 12v kit for couple hundred dollars and it'll be easy as hell to maintain.
