Any other tips on what to look out for on these?

I know there are a few of us here who are into these things, could be a fun project/winter beater.

1999 Ford Contour SVT - NEAR MINT - RARE TO FIND - OPEN TO OFFERS

68style 10-17-2016 10:09 PM

^
I picked up a SVT Contour with a few issues as a project car last year... my best buddy had one when we were growing up so it was kind of a nostalgia thing for me and they really are great cars to drive. Too bad for this one, his price is totally out to lunch for what he has there with the body damage, terrible looking exhaust and high mileage. That's a $2k car at best.

320icar 10-17-2016 11:08 PM

I posted one up about a month ago for 1200 or 1500. That's about the right price lol

vitaminG 10-18-2016 11:12 AM

^ they all burn oil, every vtec honda ive owned burned oil. and every bmw ive owned leaked it.

I believe the head gasket comment was for the Subaru above my post, look for rust on the shock towers. The add is down so I'm assuming it sold, did you buy it?

snowfarmer 10-18-2016 01:26 PM

:heckno: That filthy engine compartment isn't a promising sign on a maintenance intensive car like the Allroad.

Not a fantastic deal but this could be the car for ones who've been hunting for a low km, newer model, S2000 in white on red interior.
