Im gonna guess it was a rear/ rear side accident since it has a non-si civic (R18) axle back.

Too bad it's auto but that could explain why it's in better condition than other Talons / Eclipseseseses

*pretty sure* I went to check out this car last year.
Terrible rebuild job. All panels look like they’ve been replaced by an amateur and painted badly.
The seller was kinda shady too by saying accident was on front right meanwhile the rear right seemed like it was the area it was worked on.
The hood wouldn’t even close or open LOL can’t remember what else

I'm looking for a new daily right now, anywhere between the SiR to something like this IS300. Been looking into civics, bmw e36/e46.
Would definitely appreciate some of your sightings!

Definitely considering it but all the maintenance that was involved in the last one has me steering away - unless it's an M or ZHP at a solid price BrokeBack

A friend in Victoria has a 1999 Honda Civic SiR 177kms, electron blue he will be putting on the market shortly. No rust, refinished OEM wheels, timing belt/water pump just done etc. Has all the bolt on mods and would make a fun daily. Pm for his contact info.

Update: I have had 5 pms and 3 people contacted him. No deposit yet. He is looking for 7-8k range for the car.

First year was the "hot air" version without an intercooler. Least desirable year out of the 4 years offered. Price is high for a non-runner, depending on the issue, and that interior looks beat. Some argue that 1985 is the money year but 1987, the final year of production, would be the most desirable IMO.

It wouldn't be a bad price if the car ran. This is not a stock hot air car so it's a great foundation for an IC given what's already done to it.

That said, why would the owner do all the work and then give up after an electrical issue? One that incapacitates the car? Makes me wonder if things are more fucked than the owner is letting on.

vitaminG 05-15-2018 10:28 AM

^ I'm surprised someone would do all that work and not add an intercooler

I see. Not really what I'm into but usually i see these for 20-25k. I know these are popular with some of us on here so thought I'd share. Good to know. That Type-R has me drooling a bit though.

BIC_BAWS 05-15-2018 12:07 PM

LOL Reggie (the nightrunner)'s sometimes running k swapped ITR. I think it'd take a lot of money and time to get it running properly again.

TouringTeg 05-15-2018 12:24 PM

The parts list in that Type R is awesome. Parting it out would be a PITA.

TouringTeg 05-15-2018 03:19 PM

Holy sh*t

88 E30 M3 175k $25k rust. Maybe legit. Up for minutes and now on hold so no email contact now.

Location is Oak Bay Avenue which is full of seniors. Also an apartment complex is what shows on the map and that is what the picture look like.

I'm talking to the seller already. Asked about a PPI and waiting for a reply. Offered a deposit and probably missed out.
I fucking hate this thread. Lets see it reposted next month after a car wash for 55k.

TouringTeg 05-15-2018 03:43 PM

I was going to go buy it as is no inspection with cash since it's a 20 min drive for me. lol

Someone is going to buy it with no inspection and hand him money. Scary I know.

Let me know if I can help.

The Producer 05-15-2018 03:45 PM

He said rust under the pedals, windshield, and left tail light.
I should have just said I'd wire him the money right now. The only thing is, if theres rust, and its not a runner, its gonna be a 50k car anyways. I'd rather just spend the 50k up front if thats the case. I'll let you know if he gets back to me. If I can make it work I'd toss you some hefty cash just to make sure to get the keys from him once I sort it out. I'm not holding my breath though. Sucks that its that kind of chase for a decent deal (I use the word decent because it would have been a 7k e30 8 years ago)

GS8 05-15-2018 03:48 PM

As summer gets closer and closer, we'll all be viewing our bank accounts with twitchy fingers

:accepted:

TouringTeg 05-15-2018 03:56 PM

The rust under the pedal made me pause. I pictured a full body restoration.

No worries. I would be in to get keys and take it to my home for garage storage. If undriveable I know someone with a car trailer or just flat deck.

Good luck!

westopher 05-15-2018 04:13 PM

Hopefully he gets back to me and its a good driver. Then you can drive the shit out of it for me for the week!
Hope is fading quickly for me though while I wait for the reply.
