Seems like a fair price with the remainder of the third party warranty left, hopefully the timing chain issues would happen within the warranty period. Looks like it's in good condition and Imola yellow is a nice color

Here's why the V8 Audi S4 is an awful used car
https://jalopnik.com/here-s-why-the-...car-1676466510

Instead, you might consider 2010 Audi S4, $14,900 (higher mileage but easier engine to work with, similar hp)

Normally I'd agree, but a warranty and clean bill of health from Jeff @ turn3 is a huge upside. Price is pretty good, colour is fantastic and they sound amazing.

b8 s4 is meh :accepted:

You know it's a Lubrico 'warranty' .. not an Audi warranty.

i didn't say it was. do you have a specific reason to doubt the legitimacy of said aftermarket warranty?

though I haven't personally had one, i know several people that have, and it's saved them some big $.

VAG factory warranty's on the other hand I have personally had to fight like hell to cover repair costs. BMW/Mini too.

I'm not saying this car is even necessarily a good buy, but it sounds like a good B7, which if you can get over the fear of owning and the MPG is a fantastic vehicle to drive.

Yah, now that you mention it, all warranties you kinda have to 'fight' to get your issue reimbursed but Lubrico has had some bad reviews. I know someone who has it on used car, it has multiple levels/optioned package, you have to send in your oil change proof, etc. You're right ... better than nothing.

Don't get me wrong, S4's are pretty good all around sports sedans, I've been eyeing an S4 and price of 2010+ is coming down to B7 prices. So given that, I think I'd buy a B8.

Here is one for just a bit more, 2011, S4, 90K kms, $17,8K (except owner lives in the water somewhere)

Focus RS anyone? His list price at $32.5K seems to be a bit misleading as he's saying buyout now is $34K plus he wants $2.5K over buyout. Regardless with a bit of negotiating it could be a good deal on an RS with only 10,000 km on the odometer.

https://images.craigslist.org/00i0i_...3B_600x450.jpg

I have to sell or have someone take over lease due to a medical issue. The car has been in storage almost a year.I have a 2016 RS on a great lease at about $880 a month. The car has about 10000 Klm. I am either looking to sell outright or take over lease. Medical reasons prevent me from enjoying the car. The lease is very attractive with 25000 Klms a year. I purchased extended warranty and the complete maintenance packages.
This is not a Ford lease but rather one made through the dealer and underwritten by Westminster Savings.
Buy out at end of lease: $18,800 (Nov 2020)
Buy out at 2 year point of lease: $30,000 (Nov 2018)
I would like $2500 up front.
I did not pay over list price as many RS sold.

Current outright prurchase price today around 34K

350 HP 6 speed AWD.

Fully loaded RS white with two blue ford racing stripes (vinyl...can be removed)
Summer and winter tires mounted with RS mags
Signed letter from ford president and desk ornament of RS shifter.

I am open to reasonable offers but cant afford to give it away either. Everything you have read and seen about this car is true it is a truly incredible. The RS is located in Victoria, but can be in Vancouver for a serious buyer. I can have it at the dealer with in a week.

phew!

a "/S" after the sentence helps to indicate that it's sarcasm, tough to convey tone in the electronic world

I'd pass, probably water damaged.

I did a lot of research buying my S4 and may as well share the knowledge if anyone is interested in buying one.
  • The 2010-2011 models have the first gen DSG/S-Tronic transmissions for the S4s
  • In 2012, they updated the internals of the transmission so the clutches grabbed better and performed more reliably than the early ones
  • The late 2013 (facelift) and on has what they call the gen 2 of the transmission, which has different higher gearing and most reliability.

That being said, a module in these transmissions called mechatronics often fail creating a transmission failure and replacement of the entire tranny. Its not unheard of for even the newest gen of the transmissions to have this problem

While I havent personally driven one without, people say that the sport diff option on these cars are a must have (torque vectoring rear differential)

Overall, great car with lots of immediate power, and tons of potential, but is pretty worrying sometimes so get a warranty if you can.

Classic, right beside an autobody shop.

G0rilla 06-26-2018 02:57 PM

How come 99‰ of cars that's come out of Surrey are rebuilt or have huge hits and shady history? Cuz everyone's cousins and cousin of that cousin has a bodyshop?

About 5 years ago I was sitting at a red light with a dump truck idling beside waiting for the light to turn green and for traffic to move so he could turn onto my street and through the light. Out of nowhere he decides its time to go and drives through me spinning my car 180 while the light is still red. Jumped out of the car like WTF??? all said and done he asked for the opportunity to use his friends body shop instead of going through ICBC. Gave the guy a chance called the shop and the guy answered hunji budddyyyyy. I hung up and called ICBC.
