A lot of other brands get around that problem by simply not lasting to high mileage.

Pretty sure that owner is verified as driving like a cunt all the time. Wouldn’t want to be the second owner of that car

Edit: sorry if I’m wrong, Might be a different black loud rx8 with blacked out tails

Might be thinking of the one that's always at DriveHard, if it's the same one. That one is REALLY LOUD.

Went to take a look at this.

So in the ad it says 200,000km, but what it doesn't mention is it's a US Import.

The owner mentioned he's the 2nd or 3rd owner. Only had it since May because he moved from Ontario to here.

Exterior appears to be decent condition from my point of view, but then again, looked at it in an underground parkade. Same with the interior.

It's well maintained, has a stack of records.

Tires are motomaster, manufactured in 2016, appears to be decent tread

Not sure if it's a Matrix XRS thing in regards to the friction point of the clutch, but found it to be pretty high compared to Honda's.

Ever rebuild an engine in this city? It’s not cheap. Not 30k, but my rebuild hit 10k and I put it together. Lol

underscore 11-01-2018 08:37 PM

Is it just me, or did the ad for the RX8 say 350hp before and now says 400hp?

If he has receipts to back up a brand new (not rebuilt) 13B-REW then I could see the price. But if it's a rebuild it shouldn't be that expensive, rotary rebuilds are pretty basic.

snowfarmer 11-01-2018 09:14 PM

I don't have the facts or data to debate on the oil consumption issue and I'll take it you have that info on other authority than this page.

This is copypasta from the writeup on that web page.

"2ZZ-GE engine lifespan resembles that of the 1ZZ and reaches about 120,000 miles (200,000 km) of mileage at average. Having reached such a rate of running, you will probably face a need of complete overhaul. Otherwise, you must purchase a new 2ZZ engine."

That doesn't seem right? Besides, pretty much every XRS I see listed has like 300,000 km on it and no mention of engine rebuilds in the ad.

Not sure if they know what they have here .... must do due diligence cuz it's at Repo.com but this could be a real value. 3.0L V6 Supercharged 333 hp/325 lb-ft torque engine, putting it all down on AWD.

2010 Audi S5 Quattro Convertible, 134K kms, $11,910

just saying that for 30k in upgrades 350whp is pretty weak ..you can buy cars for under 10k with 350whp

Damn liars, on CL posting, it list as clean status. That's why you need to do due diligence. Thanks for the additional info.

It would be the renesis. Which, iirc, can be difficult/unreliable to turbo due to the exhaust port placement.
Not saying $30k difficult lol. But probably not as easy to make the numbers a rew can.

vitaminG 11-03-2018 02:47 AM

^ well it says it's a 13b-rew which is a common swap so why are you assuming it's a renesis?
