This aligns with what bennings done so far... Swap pure prospects or picks for prospects that are further along in their development and more of a sure thing (in terms of being a serviceable nhler). Removes risk. Hes reorganizing the prospect pool so we have a continuous stream of nhl ready prospects instead a gap of 3-4 years before the next crop of prospects are ready. Also buys time for the virtanens and the mccanns to develop without rushing them into the nhl.

I went and watched a Abbotsford heat game during the lockout season. It was only one game but Baertschi looked a lot better than everyone else there, TJ Brodie was playing there at the time also and looked pretty average I didn't understand what all the hype was about, was I ever wrong lol he has been awesome for Calgary this season
