But I think it's smart to hire a veteran olympic vezina calibre goalie for 3 years while you do your rebuild.

Who fucking cares how much they are paying him? You don't have to pay him, the owners do

Thank goodness you're not in charge of the rebuild then lol.

Vezina caliber? that's laughable. Yes, sure, it's smart to hire a veteran cry baby who will throw tantrums at every losing streak, and won't hesitate to throw teammates under the bus.

Who fucking cares...everyone does. Because we could've gotten way better players for that money to compliment a rebuild.

You're right, they would be much better off if Revscene was managing the rebuild. What am I thinking?

Nonis signs 37-year-old Robidas to 3-year deal

at this point...that's actually a good idea. Still better than the morons at CDC. If you think Miller time is gonna go 3 years and he'll be a great fit here, you're gonna have a bad time.

radioman 07-01-2014 09:48 AM

I see no real difference between CDC and Revscene when looking at a few members.

SkinnyPupp 07-01-2014 09:51 AM

The choices were Miller, Hiller, and Brodeur. Hiller won't play here, so is Brodeur better? (Or is there someone I'm missing?)

And who cares how much they are paying him? You don't have to pay him, the owners do. The length is what matters, and how they manage cap space.

In terms of money the only number that matters to fans is cap hit, and with miller it's not a great one.

How do you know Hiller won't play here...He just signed with the Flames.
I think it was Brodeur who didn't wanna play here but tbh Brodeur for 1 year is alot better then Miller. Lack would be able to learn more and can split the load more evenly VS with Miller who would probably demand playing time and cry like a little bitch if he doesn't get it.

411ken 07-01-2014 09:55 AM

I know he's higher but it's only 1.5 million more than hiller. But an extra year. Not a big deal to me. At the end of the day, ppl will never be satisfied no matter who's in net. Just look at luongo. Helped us make the finals then a lot of fans turned their backs on him lol

Heck, a lot of ppl wanted local/na talent yet complain about virtanen when he hasn't even played a single game yet. Lol

Miller has good connections with benning so let's see how he does with his off ice actions

tmc22 07-01-2014 09:56 AM

did anyone else hear from bob mckenzie that myers was going to edmonton??

By saying this, you only perpetuate it even more

Jonas Hiller?
- team player
- younger, cheaper, better
- easier to retain Lack if he wants to stay, if signing a 2-year was possible in Calgary, then it was probably possible here, their contracts both expire at the same time so we could have just passed Lack the keys in 2 years
- Calgary is a bigger shithole than here so there's no reason to think he wouldn't want to play here, at least we have leadership and a new "management"
- groomed, mentored and played under Stanley Cup Winner JS Giguere
- played in Olympics for the Swiss

we threw Lack to the wolves already last season, especially at the end, he played well

And who cares how much they are paying him? You don't have to pay him, the owners do. The length is what matters, and how they manage cap space.

we should care because we need every amount of cap space possible since we are trying to go for Iggy and probably more for a final piss poor effort in the playoffs

.

Edmonton will still suck.

:heckno::fulloffuck::fuuuuu:

I wanted Hiller time, not Miller time!

moldex 07-01-2014 10:02 AM

Miller is still a good goalie in this league. IMO having him or Lu is a wash. Yes the situation is awkward but if you look at it another way, we got Bo horvat and Shawn Mattias ( who has been pretty good for us) while keeping the same caliber of goaltending as when Lu was still here.

OK so neither Brodeur NOR Hiller wanted to come to Vancouver. So that leaves you with Miller or run your young goalies into the ground during a rebuild.

If we kept Luongo, Lack would have gotten the mentoring that was needed. Lack gets traded. Eriksson get the backup job and the cycle continues. Canucks would've been a goaltending factory.

Rather than tank. All our backup goalies could bring us high first round picks.

Jmac 07-01-2014 10:09 AM

It's done, all we can do now is hope we get 2010 Miller (or the Miller of the past few years if you want us to tank for McDavid/Eichel).

You don't play a young goalie in a rebuild :fulloffuck:

Especially when Lack proved he's not ready to be the #1, looking at his play after Luongo left

Seriously this is some CDC level shit going on in this thread :fulloffuck:

Jmac 07-01-2014 10:12 AM

Burke was the one that signed Hiller in Anaheim. I don't think there was much of a chance of him going anywhere other than Calgary.
