My 4th gen has been pretty reliable!
Not to many prelude curse

So my passenger side door won't lock anymore and the car makes a super loud buzzing sound when I lock it. Apparently this is because of the lock actuator.

So since this seems to be a common problem, I'm assuming at least some of you have dealt with it. Where's the best place to buy the part and do you guys have any other tips for the repair itself?

hondaautomotiveparts.com if it hasn't been discontinued yet.

Hey, i have a 94 Prelude SR-V
ran into a problem with it couple weeks ago and havent had time to get it checked out. wondering if any of you have had the same issue.

Pretty much, my RPM tach doesnt move.. Well, it moves but just a tad. It idles at 0rpm, tops out at 4600 RPM, wont reach 5, 6, or 7. While in gear, stays between 500 - 2500pm. Car runs perfectly fine though, doesnt hit VTEC anymore due to the RPM tach not going far enough. Anyone have any ideas to what is causing it or any ideas to how to repair it? Thank you in advance!

underscore 06-15-2015 01:01 PM

This isn't a Prelude-specific fix, but I know a lot of older cars have problems with the capacitors drying out in the tach and causing it to malfunction. If the cluster is easy to pull I'd replace them.

I miss mine :(

Anyone know how to wire up the 4th gen JDM headlights to USDM harness? I know JDM ones take h1 and h4 bulbs. I wired up the h4 ones but there's no low beam, just high beam. And I don't know where to find the h1 harness, anyone able to help me out with those would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Would you have an idea where I could possibly get an h1 harness? I was able to get an h4 one from lordco but no h1 :/

Any 4th Gen owners that have 4x114.3 stockies, preferably Sawblades, please PM me if you want to get rid of em! Need wheels for my CB Accord...

Stook 12-28-2015 12:02 AM

Is there still a local Prelude forum that is active? The old VPC has been gone for years. I maybe picking up a 5th gen in the near future.

BoostedBB6 12-28-2015 09:22 AM

I missed mine enough I bought another :P

www.vacnouverpreludeclub.com is long gone and it sucks that it is. First car club I was part of and loads of memories there. Now there is VancouverPreludeClub.net but there is little to no one on there anymore which sucks. I need to get on there and see if I can get some people to post there more.

The Toronto Prelude Club used to be a good one to check out but they are going the same direction as VPC, next to no posts and the only posts I see are FS posts. Would be cool to get a Prelude crew back together but not sure how to make that happen.

Preludepower and Preludeonline was still active when I checked on the forums a few months ago. Still plenty of resources around on the forums there. I think the thing is; many people are getting rid of their ludes therefore they're posting less..got rid of mine last month :alone:

The big forums have some movement on them still but so little compared to years passed. I would not be surprised that they start to disappear soon. It seems facebook groups are taking over where the forums used to take top order. Sad part about FB pages is no one knows anything and you get 20+ of the same comment.

snowball 12-29-2015 12:19 AM

the Prelude section on Honda-tech is still relatively active and their archived threads probably won't be disappearing anytime soon if anyone needs resources.
