Is it easy to rollback to Windows 8.1 if I don't like it?

Peturbo 07-30-2015 04:03 PM

^ Theres an option to go back to windows 8.1 in the menu.
"this option is only available for a month after you upgrade to Windows 10."

knight604 07-30-2015 04:15 PM

windows 10 =/= 7 > 8.1 > 8

for some reason, I can't activate my windows key, i get this error code (Error code: 0xC004F074) and i can't figure out why. I'm assuming this is why I cant upgrade to windows 10

Downloading now as we speak

If you don't get the download via Windows Update then follow these directions:

Force Download Windows 10 Free Upgrade Right Now, Here's How [Tutorial] | Redmond Pie

I did this just now and it started to auto download within a minute

Didn't work for me. I have genuine win7. Just gonna wait for microsoft's notification. No point in force getting it early.

mine was giving me the same error until i changed it. so far im able to get further than where i originally had before that "something happened" popped up

just an update, the above works, and now im running a upgraded version of win 10. currently in the process of making a USB to do a clean install. oh and dont both with cd keys as just like everyone out there, i was given a generic cd key after the upgrade.

First impressions are important, and 10 has got my attention. It boots fast. Like less than 10 seconds fast, on a modest speed SSD. The start menu is awesome. I didn't mind the Windows 8 start screen, but this new hybrid is great!

I did a clean install of Windows 10 Enterprise on my work computer. I liked it enough that I performed an upgraded on my tablet, as well. The upgrade went smoothly. Now, I am upgrading the rest of the machines in the home.

In case people need them doing a clean install.

Razor Ramon HG 07-30-2015 11:08 PM

Generic keys that MS are giving out to those having troubles activating

StylinRed 07-30-2015 11:34 PM

What's the N editions?

It's a generic volume license, so you can use it to upgrade/fresh any computer.

SkinnyPupp 07-31-2015 01:04 AM

You're saying 1000's of people can use the same license?

Razor Ramon HG 07-31-2015 03:32 AM

It's for those with the free upgrade from Windows 7/8.

Works perfectly for me, and activated fine.

You activated a fresh installation of windows 10 with it on a cleanly formatted hard drive? Not an upgrade?

Ulic Qel-Droma 07-31-2015 12:38 PM

I did an upgrade, but you can try doing a clean installation. Got nothing to lose! But I've had no issues with my upgrade, so I would recommend it if you're lazy.
