Perhaps there are other things that are making Hamhuis reluctant to waive his NTC. Family? Maybe wifey and the kids do not want to move out of B.C. on a temporary basis.
As much I really want Hamhuis to waive his NTC, and be traded to a championship contender, so that the team gets a prospect d-man and draft picks, life can get complicated if there are family members who are influencing his decision.
Botchford reported chi moved away cuz hamhuis took too long to decide
Also kings manor reported there should be a la deal announced with 30mjn
hearing its Purcell to LA...unconfirmed so far
lol i have a feeling Hammer will stand pat

I remember that TSN had a trade deadline panel one year and there was basically no big trades. They all just sat there talking nonsense for the entire day. It was hilarious.

Sounds like Christian Ehrhoff will be moving from LA to CHI. Not an official trade but likely to occur. #TSN #tradecentre
Has not had any discussions with Benning. That includes signing and extension.
Has been around long enough to know what that potentially means.
Has had talks with his family so they can be prepared.
His first preference is to sign an extension and finish his career, and win a cup in Vancouver. Feels he has several more good years left.
Does not have a list of teams he would waive for. Obviously it would be a contender that would want him. Would have to be presented with the opportunity and then look at the team, is it a fit?
Will not commit to saying if asked he will waive only that he would look at any offer presented.
Was asked if he is traded is he done with the Canucks. He said no and brought up Vermette. Said if he waives to go to a contender he would circle back in July to have discussions with the Canucks. He very much wants to finish his career as a Canuck.
Winning is important to him yes but at this point in his life his family is number one so finishing out his career here would be a dream. Winning a cup here would be unreal.
Feels the healthiest he has felt all season. Would love to be in the playoffs. Still hasn't given up on the Canucks making it but is realistic about the odds. Loves this team, loves this city, loves the fans. It's where he wants to be. Has a lot of respect for the management and coaching staff. Likes the direction the club is going in. Emphasized how much he'd love to get back to where they were in 2011.
I believe chicago gains cap room from this move. Not too sure tho cuz of pit retaining and Scuderi in minors. Could still technically make a move especially with sekac gone too
If Hamhuis wants to finish his career as a Canuck, would Dim Jim lowball him and ask him to take a home town discount when he re-signs with the team as a free agent?
down to Pens and Stars but i'd put my money on him staying put at this point

Salary being retained on both ehrhoff and scuderi.. would mean more cap trouble next year for chi. But possibly gives them enough cap for a retained hamhuis still. Remember chi d this year is not that great and ehrhoff hasn't been good either
