My coworker has this problem and he's so frustrated with it. We both have the 6P on the Bell network. We'll put our phones side by side and his is always on H and mine on LTE.

I had this problem and found a fix. Go into your data usage and go into the "Cellular Networks" menu.
From there tap "preferred network type". Tap the 3G option then exit the menu entirely and allow it to connect.
After it has connected go back to the same menu and hit LTE and allow to connect. That should fix your problem.

He did this and it seems to fix it for a short while and revert back to H the next day or so.

Hmmm, perhaps just a reboot and it might work. I saw this issue mentioned on reddit so perhaps theres another solution.

go to your dialer and enter
*#*#4636#*#*
Phone Information
Under "Set Preferred network type"
manually select LTE/GSM/CDMA auto

the network should disconnect and reconnect.

Then make sure you have the correct APN set

Anyone running a tempered glass screen protector right now? Whats a good one to go with, every one on amazon people are saying covers at least something and nothing has all the proper cutouts.

I've been using this one since December. No issues with functionality (ambient light sensor) and I like the speaker cutouts. I got it from a small cell shop at Crystal Mall right by the chinese restaurant.

Just got a 5x. Almost decided to switch to iOS but I'll at least wait for the iPhone 7 if I ever do.

It's pretty sweet so far and Marshmallow is a real nice upgrade from the shitty 4.3 I was running previously. Love the fingerprint scanner. I find myself just turning on my phone for fun lol. As a previous Nexus owner I was worried about the camera. Still haven't put it to the test but I've heard it was decent this time around. Worried about battery life though.

Wanted a 6P but the size threw me off. Even the 5x is sort of too big for me. It's fine just using it at home or something but pulling it out in and out of my pocket on the go or quickly trying to do something and having to maneuver my hand around to reach the top corners gets annoying. Another reason I wanted to switch to the iPhone was it's IMO the perfect size. And for it's time of release before the big phone craze the 5 was also the perfect size IMO.

5X is on sale again through Google Store. I'd imagine not too many of them are selling.

16GB for $389 ($435 after tax)
32GB for $449 ($500 after tax)

I paid $690 after taxes for my 6P a month ago.

If I knew the 5X would be $200 cheaper a month later, I probably would've waited.

Expresso 01-26-2016 02:30 PM

^ I was going to post as well. It's a pretty solid deal now. Not far off from what we paid for the Nexus 5 back in the day.

Spoon 01-26-2016 03:41 PM

Why couldn't they announce that a few weeks ago when my wife dropped my phone . . .

noclue 01-26-2016 07:27 PM

my pops note 2 is starting to die... will the 5X be a night and day difference or should I wait until the LG G5 is out so the G4 is cheaper?

It'll be a big difference.

If he needs it now, I would get the 5X. If not, wait for the G4 to drop in a few months time.

bobola 01-27-2016 01:57 AM

Hope they drop the 6p as well.
I'm guessing it will be a while tho since its selling quite well?

trancehead 01-30-2016 12:16 AM

coming from the nexus 5 to the 6p, world of difference. feels and looks like a premium phone relatievely as the 5 felt plasticy and cheap

the latest android is fantastic. smooth as butter.
having visual voicemail is a huge plus (although it may be a tmobile thing?)

samsung s5 phone is dying, should i switch to 6p or wait for LG G4? I want the iphone 7 but waiting is in mid / late fall..... cant wait :/

contract expires in july or june i cant remember.

SiRV 02-04-2016 04:29 PM

6p best purchase ever if you can get used to Android platform. 64 gig phones are 500$ cheaper than the equivalent iphone6s. Google photos stores unlimited photos too, so no need to pay for icloud.

By far the best phone I've had as well. Talked to various coworkers about their phones and all the problems on their phones aren't on mine.

I've had: iphone 4S, note 2, note 3 and iphone 5s (all when they were within first 12 months they were released). Compared it to coworker's samsung S6 edge, LG G4, and OPO. I would say it is the best phone for the value right now. Pure android experience, great hardware, front facing speakers, perfect screen size (imo). Battery also lasts me a whole day of medium to heavy usage with some video gaming time in there too.
The only other phone I'd trade it for is the iP6+, but that's way out of my budget. There's really nothing I wish the phone did a better job at, and that's never happened with my other phones.

Verdasco 02-07-2016 03:40 AM

amazing. might be my next phone then , thanks!

This post is selling me on the 6P.

I'm with Rogers and my iphone 5s is about to crap out. I want to buy a phone and just continue my plan.

What is the camera like on the 6P?

SiRV 02-07-2016 01:24 PM

6p camera is goes good head to head against ip6+. The only leaving is the video stabilization is a bit off, otherwise, is actually consider the photo taking capabilities much better (especially in low light settings).

My phone history, ip3gs, ip4s, nexus 4, galaxy s5
