Has anyone bought a CTR lately? I am wondering if dealerships are willing to negotiate below MSRP or are they still firm on it?

Didn't buy one, but I've been monitoring local inventory and civicx forums. A few stores have them in stock, though they just arrived and I don't think stores are ready to go under MSRP unless they're hurting. The Swindon plant is still closed and it doesn't sound like they'll build the units allocated for production in the shutdown months, so the supply for 2020s will be more limited than usual.

For anyone looking for a CTR there is a grey one in Duncan. Story goes that financing fell through and buyer had to return the car.

Recall notices/letters going out in July. I checked online and I don't see a recall on my car (yet)

Only 930KMS and the front tires are at 65% left? Sounds like the car was definitely babied :heckno:

I followed the post on Instagram

Apparently there were 2 guys going at it, and it was at $35k

Then one of them went full retard, and that's how it ended up at $50k USD

FailFish

The want is strong with that one. The sound of the B16A VTEC IMO is the best out of all the VTEC engines. Its crisp, loud, and music to my ears.

68style 06-06-2020 02:20 AM

I never thought VTEC was that big of a deal, and then I picked up a 93 Prelude SR-V in the fall and coming onto a highway entrance ramp with it matted to redline in second gear, when VTEC changeover happens that sound is so intoxicating, into 3rd and a quick enough shift you don't drop out of it... not even like a crazy fast car or anything, but I'll be damned if I didn't feel like it was

dark0821 06-06-2020 10:55 AM

god damn.... now i want vtec... when s2k becomes affordable...if ever

twitchyzero 06-06-2020 12:01 PM

as relevant today and tuning capable as the K motor is
it cant quite replicate the wail of the H, F and B-series powerplants

need headphones

My wifes 97 Prelude with the H22 + cold air intake + VTEC = heaven

tegra7 06-06-2020 05:21 PM

Skip to 4:18. :sweetjesus:

68style 06-06-2020 06:09 PM

I just put a k20 into a Civic, picked it up on Monday and it rips like crazy when it hits VTEC too, but agree with poster above the sound is not there like it is with the B series or H series or even the F20... not sure why

GS-R being the 2nd rung in trim level I think most people except the die-hards have simply forgotten about them

I think Del Sol has joined the Insight and Beat as those quirky cars that'll never really become golden

if anything I can see the Preludes making a comeback in value

Its crazy what em1 is going for now!

twitchyzero 06-07-2020 03:55 PM

when did i predict that? only 6 mos ago?

how wrong i was

Si/SiR/VTi-R was only a 2 year run-- still that's insane coin for a revvier double-wishbone Civic

68style 06-07-2020 04:35 PM

Not an actual EK Civic Type-R, but it’s probably faster than one :alonehappy:

twitchyzero 06-07-2020 06:15 PM

dashboard would bother me :lol

68style 06-07-2020 06:26 PM

^ me too I have to fit it somehow just temp... but you have to make a choice RSX redline and engine mileage or civic dash and converting everything which didn’t work with the 05-06 K20 etc etc theres no really good answer. I’m going to try and mould something up.

Fafine 06-07-2020 06:28 PM

Dannng looks like a fun time.
