in all the years looking at 96spec examples, they all look tired

but my taste has changed..if there's a clean 95/96 even with inferior specs to the later models and more dated bumper/wheels/steering wheel, there's something pure about them

lightest, heads ported by hand, first attainable type R ever made

This vid almost needs it's own thread.

At the time, locally at least these cars were never a thing. It was all swapped eg, ef, or even gsr, itr. Everyone I know that had a new Sir, their parents paid for it.

twitchyzero 03-08-2021 05:27 PM

i still see rusted out crx here or there but it's probably been a few years since i've seen an ef

TouringTeg 03-08-2021 07:24 PM

My neighbour has a Tahitian green EF Si. He rarely drives it now.

spoon.ek9 03-11-2021 08:25 AM

I still daily my EF Si :)

Got a small group of EF guys in a whatsapp chat. A few of them have winter vehicles and save the EF for warmer weather.

Removed sound deadening and rear wiper. I guess they planned to do this all along.

It would have been cool if they had optional stereo and AC delete.

underscore 03-16-2021 08:52 AM

People still do stereo and AC deletes on a street car?

twitchyzero 03-16-2021 09:33 AM

how much laptime can you shave when you reduce 50lbs from 3200?
22 of it unsprung

good on them for telling buyers not to pay the adm on a civic

Doubl3_H 03-16-2021 09:33 AM

I think everyone jacked up their asking prices ever since they sold that Barrett Jackson one for $165K.

TouringTeg 04-11-2021 07:14 PM

There is a new LE at a dealer in Massachusetts for $20k USD over msrp

Can Canadian dealers charge over msrp?

Suprarz666 04-11-2021 07:15 PM

I don't think Canada is allowed to charge over msrp.

trollface 04-11-2021 08:42 PM

Oh yeah they are lol. I've seen GT500's with "Market adjustment"

Just do what Porsche Centre does - drive it round the block and then sell it as certified pre-owned for 100k over MSRP.

Uhh yeah they are. The focus RS spend over a year with crazy inflated msrp

twitchyzero 04-12-2021 08:11 AM

all in the name...it's retail suggested by the manufacturer
many sell for less, not that unfair some can command more if there's a market
