What an honor

Saw the Abbotsford one in the flesh, salesgirl was nice enough to let me sit in it.
Told her I’m interested when they drop the price.

Narrator: "They didn't."

They will low-ball on your trade in

tegra7 01-19-2023 02:16 PM

What is Its a trade worth 1k?

jcmaz 01-19-2023 07:58 PM

They probably won't even take your 1k trade. Friend of mine said they had a client with a ~15k market value vehicle and the trade in amount was 5k.

Has anyone seen any allocations come through lately? Seems like a couple cars came in late Nov and then nothing. Been offered a GRC but secretly wanting the CTR more, although I'm like #7 on the waitlist.

I saw one on the street a few days back, and I couldn't even tell it was a type r until I saw the exhaust. I thought it was just a civic si with a Canadian tire wing. I like it, way more sleeper and classy than the last one.

If you're #7 on the CTR waitlist, I'd honestly take the GRC instead. I suspect that if you take delivery of the GRC while remaining on the waitlist for the FL5, you will likely not lose very much money if you sell/trade the GRC by the time the FL5 arrives.

Thanks, I needed this confirmation. Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. I probably won't see a CTR until at least mid 2024. In the meantime I'll be driving the GRC.

If you don't want the GRC allocation can I have it? :yuno:

Sounds like the GRC is having some transmission issues on the FB Groups... clutches that are worn out/slipping at 1,000 miles apparently there's some kind of flaw in the design that might leave it partially disengaged even when you're not touching the pedal?

Hard to tell if any of these goombas aren't just dropping the clutch on 5k+ launches and then saying they drive like a granny.

Badhobz 02-09-2023 08:14 AM

surprised they are having these issues as this same powertrain was on the GR yaris. You figure they would have sorted out all the gremlins already.

Anyways, launch models always have a few bugs. that's why i always prefer to buy mid model refresh ones. That's usually when the manufacture takes all the accumulated TSB/recalls/issues and fixes them

68style 02-09-2023 08:30 AM

Apparently the Yaris is having the same problems from what I was reading... time will tell they both haven't been out very long and in such small numbers

Lol nooooo, don't bother trying. They made it a "used" car to adjust the price but technically its actually "new" car.

I mean you wouldn't want to pay 30k over MSRP for a car racking up mileage on the lot.

I haven't seen anything about that on the GRC forum, so maybe an isolated incident?
