I've seen POS base and Si ones on CL asking $5k+. Mine wasn't a POS. Well kept but I wouldn't say it was absolutely mint. 2 previous female owners, I was the 3rd. Service records since day 1. GPB on black with gray seat stripe. It was under 190k when I picked it up. Sold it I think 230km? Assuming the guy who bought it off me still has it is a car guy and it's in good hands.

jcmaz 02-01-2022 02:36 PM

Yeah but then you'll need an indoor garage spot to park the Del Sol since the seals are probably gone by now. Plus you can't even buy the targa top seals any more, they are not in production.

6thGear. 02-02-2022 07:31 AM

That was also 1 of my reasons to sell it with only 1 parking in at my condo. Felt weird parking my then new S4 on the street and a 97 del sol in the parkade lol

BaoTurbo 02-02-2022 11:39 AM

My dealer found a new 2021 Honda Civic Type R somewhere. You won't be able to find it online cuz it's purposely set to not link up to our online platforms.

Retail price: $65,604 +tax

/fail

teggy604 02-02-2022 08:30 PM

With the 2022 CTR coming out, the unsold 2021 will drop in price. Just gotta wait.

BIC_BAWS 02-02-2022 09:24 PM

That's assuming you can even get your hands on it. New car production shortage is still a thing.

My friend said he put down a deposit for one and the dealership told him he is in line for a 2023 car as all the 2022 cars have been allocated.
And this is after he bought 2 cars from them this year.

That's true
People are adopting (in BC) how to pre-order limited production cars now.
They place deposit even before the model actual announment.
It is getting too crazy and people are rich.

CTR, GR Corolla, Japanese electric cars...etc. You name it.

What a great story and they look so happy getting the car back
Them crocs tho.

rawr 03-04-2022 07:51 AM

Anyone know the history of this car? https://www.audirichmond.com/vehicle...ale_class=used

Looks like it has 2 claims for non-collision damage

GIZZ 03-04-2022 08:22 AM

I ran the vin for you through the manufacturer. Funny that Carfax says "vehicle serviced", I see the dates of the visits but no records of an oil change at any H/A dealer in Canada. He must be servicing it privately. The car has manufacturer extended warranty which is usually a good thing, but without service records it has zero powertrain value.

Thank you! That's too bad, was thinking about pulling the trigger

GIZZ 03-04-2022 09:15 AM

carfax should show a registered shop repair? For the sake of the extended warranty, I'd get them to try to find some receipts.

Still might be worth a look as the price is right. I'd check the oil. Look for signs of sludge. Check for accident repairs, the usual stuff.

To be fair though, the in service date is August 21, 2017 and standard Honda power train is 5 years or 100k km. So at the end of the day, the warranty was supposed to expire in 5 months. If extended warranty is a concern for you, then you could try to find a Honda CPO unit or ask for extended warranty options.

I think it's a pretty good price for a Type R if you had to buy one today.

GIZZ 03-04-2022 09:58 AM

the original owner bought manufacturer extended warranty, its good to Aug 2024. Don't tell the dealer you know that.

I wonder why they just dropped the price from $48 to $39?

jcmaz 03-04-2022 10:06 AM

The Carfax report was ordered back in November so I think they are trying to get rid of the car, after all it's more than 90 days now

nsx042003 03-04-2022 04:41 PM

it's still high priced...17s are the ones with cooling issues right? when tracked.

That 17 at Audi has a $3700 theft claim tho

17 also has rust recall, pre button update, the older brake design, the slower infotainment... and its black.. no one wants black.

But that 17 has a cool story!

Lucky guy. Financed a sport and instead they upgraded him to CTR, paid it off, also gave him the landscaping mower and snow blower package which he exchanged for a new Honda dirt bike instead. Plus all expense paid trip to Toronto. He was commuting and traded this 17 in for a Civic Si HFP. Then Campus had a 19 CW in the showroom and he traded the HFP for it and commuted in a beater. The 19 CW stayed tucked in the garage with 1900kms next to a Hellcat. Both rarely driven.

All FK8s have cooling issues when tracked - even 2020+

The facelift grill helps but like a subframe/rodbearing recall on a BMW, it doesn't solve the problem.

Kalize 03-06-2022 10:08 PM

Has anyone placed an order?
If so, which dealer and do you have the priced locked in at MSRP?

I’m looking to order one…

GIZZ 03-07-2022 08:39 AM

I don't think the dealers have pricing yet, usually a few months before the cars arrive.

Yup so technically the order books haven't been opened yet. You are placing a deposit to order the car when you are allowed so.

Honda Canada website says that the Type R is a MY2023 so I think the books will open up in fall, that's my guess.

rawr 04-08-2022 12:42 PM

Anyone put a deposit on the upcoming CTR? What are the waitlist like?
