Now most of them sit in a garage collecting dust with the owners hoping to cash out big one day.

^ I am jelly. I hope to go to VIMC again this summer since no ferry or hotel cost for me.
Amazingly all three LHD ITR on Vancouver Island are tracking still. Ray's PY is heavily modified and has been tracked for years. The other very modified 2001 CDM (forgot his RS name) autocrossed on Sunday.

No garage queens over here. However we will all be struggling for parts one day soon. Some are spending thousands to stock up on spares and rubber parts. Next on my list is windshield moldings and maybe quarter windows.

I'll keep tracking and driving mine. Type R are meant to be driven and this weekend was a perfect example of why it's such a usable car.
Took it to Vimc on Saturday for a track day jumping curbs and bouncing off the rev limiter. Then did a Tofino tour with my wife in it for the Easter weekend with enough space for all my tools and spare parts in the car along with our luggage. Took the ferry back on Monday night and i jump in it and I drive it to work on Tuesday. All it needed was a bit of oil and the car drove perfect in all conditions without a hiccup the while getting 8.5l/100km in normal driving.

I’m pretty sure I bought my spoon n1 off that guy couple years ago. At that time it was turbo charged and it was eating bearings. He was in the process of doing an engine rebuild. Guess he never finished the project.
Still tracking my R when i can. It’s the best way to enjoy them. It can still punch above its weight class on track.

Bye bye caR. It's been a slice. Nearly 15 years of ownership. Time to say goodbye. Happy to know you are in good hands. Last picture with the title still in my name. | | | | | 04-05-2018, 08:35 AM | #2140 | | Witness protection

I want to thank and fail. Congrats on the sale! Glad you found a buyer without even listing it.

All you really get is a a true ITR chassis to start with and even then you would want it to be checked out to make sure it is straight. JDM front often means front end hit from what I have read.

its the impossible that i want:
$10k budget, unmolested ITR, in PY OR CW with ok kms (200 or so is ok)
(theres no such thing) id really keep it otherwise. out of the 49 cars i've been through so far, the ITR would be the one i'd keep as a second car now.

There might be a near stock driver 200k+ out there for you around 15k. Used to see them on kijijijiji Alberta or Ontario.
White rocket we need more details. Is it staying in Vancouver?

The reason I sold it due to time and money constraints as this car was built to be used as a tool on the track and that costs time and money, which I don't really have anymore with kids and a mortgage. Constant maintenance and costs for tracking just aren't in the cards for me at this point in my life and it would have been a shame to just let it sit. It took a few months to come to that conclusion and once I did it was time to let her go.
I kept my 2000 #0768 as the forever car and will slowly refresh it over time(not that it needs anything really). I'd love to be part of the Japanese Collector Class at shows in a few years.
