Biega will most likely be the one that will be waived for the purposes of being sent down if Stecher keeps it up
That said, I'm pretty confident no one will pick up Biega on waivers.
I would just about lose my shit if they expose Pedan to waivers.

pedan and biega wont make the opening night roster(unless theres injuries). they want 8d for the season and thats because of the tryamkin situation (khl out clause if sent to ahl). theyd prob give juuolevi a couple games over them too
its a lock that sbisa will be on the team. they need to hold onto sbisa due to the expansion as he is the dman with enough gps per the requirement. biega can also be the player for the requirement but they will hold onto sbisa in hopes lv is stupid enough to take him to help hit the cap floor(theres enough dmen that will be better and available, but im sure teams will trade lv draft picks to not take them). they could buy him out this year but the kids haven't proved enough yet.. if they buy him out next year its .5mil more than it would be his year. (1.6mil compared to 1.1)
I know it's hindsight but Cody's draft really fucked us big time.
Basically from 2006 with Grabner, then 07 with Patrick White, Cody in 08, and Shroeder in 09, we basically fucked ourselves over with our shitty first round picks. lol
Thank god Guance is turning out to be a good depth guy.

But man...4 fucking years.
It's easy to judge a draft by information we have 8 years later, but that doesn't mean that's the proper way to judge a draft. You should judge a draft based on the information available at the time.
Hodgson and Sauve were both highly-rated prospects heading into the draft, neither were surprising picks at the time they were drafted (Hodgson was expected to be picked around 10th, Sauve fell out of the first round).
2008 had Hodgson suffer a serious and misdiagnosed back injury which set him back years, Sauve got hit by a car during training camp which set him back years, and Rai got rear-ended while driving in Vancouver, setting him back years (Rai was a longshot to begin with).
While we're looking back, many Canucks fans wanted the Canucks to take Kyle Beach (and he was ranked in that territory), but in hindsight, would've been a far worse choice. Erik Karlsson obviously would've been the guy to take had Gillis had access to a crystal ball or a time machine.
Nonis' drafts were unmitigated disasters.
2006, he trades away most of our picks for pending UFAs in a bid for a playoff push, none of whom lasted more than 9 months in the organization ... and we didn't regain any assets for them. Two 2nd round picks, a 3rd, a 4th, and a 5th ... gone ... Oh ... and we missed the playoffs.
Grabner was a bit of a gamble at the time. TSN didn't even have him ranked in the top 30 while CSS had him ranked 15th amongst NA skaters (so ~20th overall). Everyone knew he was skilled but everyone also knew he was one-dimensional and had a reputation of being lazy. Unfortunately for him/us, he didn't start to put in the work until he was traded to the Panthers and, subsequently, placed on waivers 3 months later.
Then, 2007, Nonis goes off the board TWICE to draft White and Ellington with our first two picks ... and then he's smug as fuck about it, like he's just outsmarted everyone. Not 1 NHL game played by any of those picks.
2009, Schroeder was expected to be a mid-round pick (TSN had him ranked 12th, ISS had him ranked 14th, Central Scouting had him ranked 5th amongst NA skaters (~top 10)) ended up dropping out of the top 20. He was coming off an impressive NCAA freshman season, a very impressive WJHC, and also impressed at the NHL draft combine to boot. In retrospect, yeah, better players were available, but at the time, it was considered to be a great pick.
So is it safe to say that the Guddy Tryamkin pairing isn't the best thing since corn dogs?
