the thing with apples waterproof and dust proof ip67 thing is they say it is all these things but supposedly it isn't protected under their own warranty. Stating that it is not protected by water damage? like wtf? |
^ same here. 128G 7& 256G 7+ Jet Black arrived yesterday, i'm probably just gonna stick with 6+ for now... |
^jet black to me is just a pain in the ass to keep clean...they should have made a different color which wouldn't get as dirty and scratched... |

there's no way to tell if you went further than what the suggested rating is so you just have to be careful with the way you use it. |

Samsung Galaxy S7: It's water resistant, but if it springs a leak, you're on your own | ZDNet |
Liquid? Water? I'm no chemist but isn't that the same thing? Lol |

"Disease? Chlamydia? I'm no doctor but isn't that the same thing? Lol" "Continent? China? I'm no cartographer but isn't that the same thing? Lol" "Car? Honda Accord V6 Touring? I'm no car-enthusiast but isn't that the same thing? Lol" "Woman? Margot Robbie? I'm no straight man but isn't that the same thing? Lol" Seriously, though. Are you serious? |
Just because its "water resistant" doesnt mean you should test it to the limit unless you are prepared to loose it... Just like any electronics, there could be bad one in the the bunch... On a side note, If I bough some of those sprays which repeals waters thats meant for electronics and took my phone part and sprayed all the parts, would this trigger the water damage sticker? |

Well, if it already came loose, it wouldn't be waterproof. Using bough to apply water repellent sprays is new to me. Also, once the water is soaked, it's kinda hard to repeal the water from it, if that even make sense. :troll: |
so after the big clusterfuck which was my reservation.. i got a call last week from a higher up rep/supervisor this was after spending like 6-7 hours over twitter on the rogers support thing messaging between different agents explaining my situation in full. The call comes in and tells me my reservation was cancelled because i had BCIT credits associated with my account and that pushed me into the corporate line and cancelled my reservation.. which should have never happened to begin with because the only time i ever used BCIT to get a discount was like 10+ years ago when i got my iphone 3, and since then i've switched to the "share everything" plan which has absolutely no credits or association to discounted pricing. So she informs me that yes.. like i figured.. my "corporate" reservation was incorrect and i would once again have to make a reservation through the myRogers system which i had originally done and had cancelled... she told me to make the reservation and she would call back once i had done, i told her give me 20 minutes and call back. make the reservation, she calls me back, says now my reservation will be "prioritized" and i will be moved forward in the line, when i asked her how i will know my order has been prioritized, she said i will receive an email saying my device has been shipped.. ok.. so the next time i hear about it, it will be an email saying my device will be shipped.. the way she worded everything and spoke i was under the assumption i was just going to be pushed to the front and had a phone shipped ASAP as i would have had mine already if i was in the original place in line. 4 days go by.. no email.. when i login to my rogers, my place is still in the 10XX.. contact them again, a rep then tells me that my order was prioritized but on the "office" side, and the number of my reservation does not actually reflect my position in line, and i should have been placed back where i originally was.. i then ask.. ok.. what position am i in now? they dont have that information, they have no contact regarding the info, and outside of waiting in the dark.. i will not know when my device will ship outside of randomly getting the shipped email.. Fucking rogers uhggg... |

other peoples mistakes which cost me $$$ are a concern. |
i am really liking IOS 10. sigh looks like I can't bring myself to step away from iPhones after all. Try a buddies' android phone, its good for a second phone but no TouchID :( waiting for a solution to the headphone port problem. Maybe a case with a built in adapter for for headphone jack? Preferably one from Otterbox as I have to have Otterbox on all my gear lol |

I think you're going to be BEST off by going into an Apple store after an online reservation. They're working and everyone I know that has one has gotten one through this method. Not via shipment from a carrier. I mean think about it...my order was placed 4 Minutes after the pre-order was started...my order is still processing. |

I'll help you answer your 2 questions VERY logically... Who wants a 6 when the 7 is out?: A person who is on a BYOB plan or is not eligible for an iPhone 7 under contract or someone who is switching to iPhone from Android and cannot dish out the full cost of an iPhone 7 will purchase an iPhone 6 for less than HALF of what it would cost them to buy the iPhone 7. What's wrong with "you" 6 that makes you want to get a new phone?: Nothing is wrong with his 6, he is eligible for an upgrade and can do so at little to no cost to him. If he sells his 6 and gets $550 cash for it, that'll cover most of what he will be paying for his iPhone 7 on contract. I often hear you talk about your business ventures so the concept of buy low sell high shouldn't be foreign to you and neither should the simple economics of selling an old model phone that he has been using for 2 years and buying a new model for little cost be something that puzzles you. Do you wait till your car, clothes, phones, etc are defective before you buy them? I'll break it down for you even more to help you understand: Purchase iPhone 6 in 2014 on a 2 year K for a price of - - - - > $500 CAD Sell iPhone 6 in 2016 when 2 year K is expired for a price of -> ~ $550 Purchase iPhone 7 in 2016 on a 2 year K for a price of - - - - -> $600 So all in all in a time span of 2 years, he's spent $550 on 2 phones and he will do the same song and dance again in 2 years reusing the same sum of money to fund his desire to have the latest technology in a device that he uses every hour of the day/365. |

i admit it makes sense if you're on a 2yr plan but yeah the 6 is still a perfectly capable phone so that statement manic! made was contradictory...who wants a 6 if the new stuff is out but there's nothing wrong with a 6? |
