my phone has it..it's a little bit more dynamic and louder. don't think it's gamechanging enough to be a headlining feature.

What about "better battery life"

why the ambiguity? they couldn't even quantify what better battery life meant? WutFace

camera optical stabilization looks great though

Apple Plug

One plus 3 /thread

On a side note, I'm not an apple/android fanboy, but i hate how apple does business. Once a new product comes out, they make an OS that purposely slows down the previous gen so people go out and buy their new product. It's ridiculous!

Don't tell me they add new features the 1 year old hardware can't handle... I installed android marshmellow on a 5 year old nexus and it runs smoother and faster than the original firmware that came with the phone new.

For this I despise apple and avoid their products if I have to. Unfortunately I'm stuck on using their pos MBP that is required for a program I use for work, bought in 2015 and already had to change vid cards twice and the mobo once....

Apple design is pretty sexy though, uni frame aluminum with sleek minimalistic lines

let me know when there's a back button.

Playing devil's advocate here but I hate how many phones including flagships don't get Android updates quickly or at all. Yes you can get Nexus but you're limiting yourself to a limited selection of Android phones and having a wide selection of phones is one of the best parts of Android. Sounds like Google is scrapping/pausing the Nexus program as their next batch of phones will not be vanilla.

Custom roms require some knowledge and skill and if you're hanging out in this forum you probably know how to install a rom. However, average joe who is looking for an easy to use product would not know how to slap a custom rom on their phones to keep up to date with updates.

My backup phone is a 5 and it has no slowdown issues. I think this was more of an issue for the 4 and 4s and who has one of those anymore?

I've been an Apple guy since they came out with the 4, but after reading the specs on the 7, I think it's time to switch sides.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this problem, but I firmly believe Apple has been purposely nerfing their 3.5 mm ports since the 6 came out.

For whatever reason, I've had to go through 10+ pairs of earbuds on my Iphone 6 due to the call answer/song skip button on the earbuds causing issues. My songs would randomly stop, or move forward, or activate Suri, etc.

Anytime I've used the EXACT same earbuds on my work Iphone 5S, absolutely no problems, button works completely fine. So I know it's definitely not the earbuds, but rather the phone itself.

If Apple purposely either put a shit quality 3.5mm port into the 6 as opposed to previous models, or added a software "nerf" to make them not function properly would make me pretty pissed, however I wouldn't put it past Apple, especially after now announcing they have removed the port entirely.

Shady shit, but it all makes sense now. Anyone else have that issue with headphones on the 6?

ux and ui is very important for an Apple product, which is one of the reasons why Apple is still king.

you guys can argue about specs or how great note7 is, but hte average consumer just wants something to work, and its by far so much easier to teach the average folk the iphone over android.

for me, I rely heavily on google products. The iPhone or an Android can sync the same data effortlessly in the background and I will be able to access the info on a BROWSER

as for the 3.5mm jack. digital audio is the future... good for Apple to take the initiative. Just be glad they didn't gouge you guys for another 40-50bux to buy the damn adaptor

Curious, what specs are you not happy about? What would you prefer the iPhone 7/7Plus had that it doesn't?

MarkyMark 09-08-2016 01:19 PM

They included the adapter because they knew if they didn't they would very well lose some customers. We're talking about a company that revealed $220 wireless earbuds after taking away the jack. They wouldn't give you anything for free unless they felt they had to.

And it is still unbelievable that were on the iPhone 7 and those top and bottom bezels are still the same size.

FYI if your a heavy user and use a wired headset you will not be able to charge your Iphone 7 while using a wired headset.

MarkyMark 09-08-2016 01:57 PM

Maybe they should have added wireless charging as well then, since they are on this wireless kick. Can't add to many features in one year though.

Armind 09-08-2016 02:02 PM

Quick charge would be feature many of us would like..

Never encountered this problem on my iPhone 6. Use that 3.5mm port everyday.

As a diehard Apple fanboy and someone that work with audio professionally for a living I'm really angry at Apple's decision. Apple been making more and more decision base on greed and alienating many of their OG fans and supporter. Before Apple shit was mainstream it was the platform for creative community, namely music and audio. There are so many Mac only software for audio that is/was the standard in the industry. Part of Apple's success is due to endorsement from these industry. On the iOS platform there is a very healthy community of music creation app, it's not even comparable on the android side that will very possibly be kill of due to lack of 3.5mm Jack, playing a live set using your iPhone? Good luck when you lose you 100th adapter on the way to the gig. I have ran an entire show off of my phone as an emergency. I've made a bride's day by playing an obscene song off of YouTube on a DJ set.

A lot of people in my industry is equaling mad at this. Many of us also are audiophile ourselves with hundred and thousands of dollar in headphone DAC etc. We are also the people that actually Pay for music, put up with ridiculous DRM crap. Pay for extra iCloud storage, even purchase legitimate Mac only production softwares . Bluetooth deliver good sound quality. Lol please come again in 200 years. As good as wireless technology is today. The professionals still go wire.

I had the first generation iPod. I have several Mac + MacBooks. I've had every single iPhone since the first iPhone. I've always been on a every two year upgrade. And this time it makes me really sad that when the days comes to upgrade my iPhone 6 I have to take a serious look at android options. maybe Apple will make their money back on wireless crapphones and adapter in comparison to all the revenue lost of cancelling on monthly service and android jump shipper.

Who knows but I'm really really piss and I freaking love Apple =\

I had to think hard on this. When was the last time a person had to charge their phone WHILE listening to your headset? I couldn't think of anytime. I would always be stationary to charge my phone = i'll just listen music on my laptop. ONLY time I see is when people use Iphone 5 and they need a battery pack WHILE maybe when they go cycling.

Two side of the story, Apple removed floppy, and then also CD rom and now USB ports? give it a yr and we no longer care.

I DO however had to agree with my IT guy. USB-C port; what if you're transferring stuff and it's low on battery?

Hondaracer 09-08-2016 04:23 PM

Probably won't allow you to do a big backup etc under a certain battery % as they do with updates

I do not get your comment.
USB-C and Thunderbolt are completely compatible.

I do it all the time. Not everybody has the luxury of having a Bluetooth compatible deck in their car. I still use the aux port and have my phone charging. This is especially true when I need to use battery intensive apps like GPS.

I charge and listening to music all the time. I never leave home without a battery bank. I don't drive.
