the only reasoning behind limiting supply i would think is not wanting to release millions and millions of gen 1 model for the potential of problems, applecare claims, etc.

It's kinda hard to believe Apple would purposely limit supply in an attempt to drive up demand, although i guess maybe not.

MarkyMark 09-16-2016 01:48 PM

Haven't they always had supply issues on non S models?

Vale46Rossi 09-16-2016 01:50 PM

There are tons of 7's out there just not many 7+ :(

Hondaracer 09-16-2016 01:58 PM

everything is so fucked up with the rogers reservation system FFS..

now cant even login to the "rogers direct" system, and there are mad security concerns because my password continues to be reset to the original emailed password even after i've "successfully changed password"

had a big back and forth with them on twitter.. see where this goes

You would think apple sold crack. All those Apple fans wigging out trying to get the latest upgraded Iphone 6 aka Iphone 7.
Cant wait to see what complaints will be....
Maybe waiting for the Iphone 8 might be better for you all as the 7 has no real benefits over a 6.
Shit I bet with IOS10 installed on a 6 6s you prolly cant even tell the diff.....lol especially if you have it in a case.

Well if you say so! Thanks so much for saving humanity from making such a blunder. LOL

You know fanboys come in all shapes and sizes and the reason why they get a bad rep is because they insist on shoving their opinions as facts down other people's throats. In fact, they'll go out of their way to make sure everyone knows that they've declared a product to be bunk and that everyone who desires or purchases it is crazy and misinformed. That is you.

Apple iPhone 7 Plus teardown reveals 2,900mAh battery, 3GB of RAM and more

3GB DDR4 :notbad:
smidge smaller battery
surprised they can still improve battery life with that and move to big.little core architecture

I was under the impression that it's a smidge larger. 2750 (6s Plus) v. 2900 (7 Plus).

I think they're both still smaller than the 6 Plus.

Holding both my 6S and 7 in hand, here are my two cents.
  1. Liking the new colour of the matte black vs. the space grey
  2. New home button doesn't press down because it uses haptic feedback; it will definitely take time getting used to
  3. New "dual speakers" are excellent and is almost as good as the front facing ones in the Nexus 6P; it's a significant upgrade from the 6S
  4. The new screens have a much lower maximum brightness and a slightly higher maximum brightness when I compare them at 0% and 100% brightness
  5. They talked about wide gamut during the keynote, and all I know is that the colours on my 7 are a tad warmer than the 6S (I prefer the cooler 6S)
  6. Existing 6/6S screen protectors will fit granted the headset speaker is wide enough as it has gotten bigger to accommodate the new front design
  7. There isn't much of a difference in good lighting camera-wise, but the low light performance is better than the 6S for sure; 4.7" models now get OIS as well
  8. Better selfie camera that is much sharper with less grain

Pros
  • Better front/back camera with wide colour gamut and optical image stabilization
  • Brighter screen with wide colour gamut
  • New "dual speakers" are amazing for media consumption
  • IP67 dust/water resistance is nice; iFixit submerged their iPhone in an aquarium for several hours without any issues
  • Slightly bigger battery that is said to give an extra 1-2 hours depending on usage

Cons
  • Removal of headphone jack means having to carry an extra adapter or keeping it permanently on your headphones; it doesn't come in black
  • Home button's haptic feedback.. you're either gonna love it or hate it
  • Design is very similar to the 6S, although the new black colours are awesome

Costed me about $250 to go from my 6S 64GB to a 7 32GB, so I'm a happy camper. Downgrading in size doesn't bother me because I don't use much space, but 16GB was way too little.

A lot of people criticized Apple, but I think the 7 was a nice update to the 6S. Bigger battery, better cameras, better screen, IP67, and new speaker design. Some cons of course, but I can live with them.

Went to Oakridge to pick up a iphone6s plus for the wife a tbooth and took a look at the Apple store and it was fucking packed like sardines in a can....went to metro and the Apple Store was worse lol. Apple really fucked up on the supple of the iphone7 I guess they really do sell crack haha

Gallardo 09-17-2016 08:27 PM

Dropped by to the Apple Store to take a look at the new 7. Wanted to test out the home button just for fun. The taptic engine beneath the home button provides quite a realistic vibration.

I turned the phone off and tapped on the home button, no response, just as expected.

Was hoping to see the Jet Black iphone in person, but it was no where to be found on the sales floor demo lol

It's more that they market the shit out of it too.

Razor Ramon HG 09-17-2016 09:08 PM

Picked up the black leather case for my 7.

It feels very nice and premium. Similar design as the other years of course, but they redesigned the buttons with machined aluminum so no more mushy presses.

Pricey at $65 after tax, but yolo.

Nabatron 09-17-2016 10:50 PM

^should have waited for tmbr company they make sick wood/leather cases for the iPhone. I have one for my iPhone 6 and once I upgrade to iPhone 7plus ill get it again.

Razor Ramon HG 09-17-2016 10:52 PM

I like to keep it simple. I was using a black Insignia case on my 6S for the longest time.

Great news, after several phone calls to Virgin Mobile regarding my iPhone 7 Plus order that was made literally within minutes of pre-order launch, it's been determined that there has been a glitch in the system and was advised to go into a store and explain my situation to them and have them order me a new one...

I asked the rep. why this had occurred and no one had mentioned anything until now and that I'm not very thrilled about the service I received. The response was "I could've ended this call a long time ago but I decided to go further and look into your account for you."

I think I'm done with Virgin? As indicated in this thread, I've done my due diligence and made sure I've taken every step necessary to ensure an efficient and accurate pre-order but this has only come to bite me in the ass as those who have not will absolutely get the device before me.

IMO the leather cases are worth the price. They are tight enough dust etc. doesn't get behind the case and scratch the back of the phone

parm104 09-18-2016 03:21 PM

Bye Bye Virgin, Hello Telus:

$63/month - 3 GB of data, visual voicemail, unlimited Canada/US calling/texting.
iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB - $660.

2 Year Agreement.

Nabatron 09-18-2016 04:03 PM

^dafuq how u score that? is that a promo right now?

Razor Ramon HG 09-18-2016 07:00 PM

Probably small business plan.

My current plan is $65 with 300 minutes, int'l txt, and 2GB of data.

Came with $300 of bill credits and $300 device credits. My iPhone 6S Plus 64GB costed me only $360.

TOS'd 09-18-2016 07:02 PM

Yup, sounds very similar to telus business plans some friends are on.

Nabatron 09-18-2016 08:31 PM

I wish the plans were not so fucking expensive like fuck adding data to plans is just garbage

Nabatron 09-18-2016 08:34 PM

The thing I found out is if any of you know someone or has a friend working at fido they can add credits to your account every month to reduce your monthly bill that's all I could find lol
