Bumped into Evander Kane today at the Cactus on Broadway & Granville.

*Cue the Kane to Vancouver rumours

[edit] I know he lives here

This draft is going to be great. No one knows who people are picking past 2nd overall

Even if you were to say something to him, he'll do this:

Canucks Pre-season schedule released:

9/16 - @ LA
9/17 - vs Las Vegas
9/20 - @ Cgy
9/21 - vs LA (Shanghai)
9/22 - @ Edm
9/23 - vs LA (Beijing)
9/28 - vs Cgy
9/30 - vs Edm

Going to be weird trying to evaluate talent between the 2 different teams that will be in China or local... and then only 2 games to mix anything up after the fact...

6o4__boi 06-14-2017 11:32 AM

can't really evaluate talent in the pre season anyways

out of all those games i'd probably only watch the Vegas one just for the novelty of seeing a new team

NYR Buying out Girardi - Sportsnet

A bit bittersweet, Girardi was an absolute beast for NYR. Coming up undrafted through the ECHL to the AHL where he became an NHL regular and even an all-star in the 2011-2012 season. There is no doubt that the way he played has taken a toll on his body and the way the game is going he is not worth 5.5 for another 3 years.

If he would be willing to sign a reasonable contract I would love to see him on the Canucks. He could fill the void that was left with Bieksa went to Anaheim, and would likely be retiring around the time when the Canucks should be turning the corner as far as being a competitive NHL team goes.

still here... hopefully this season has some upside to it. fully expecting bottom basement again though lol.

Ch28 06-14-2017 12:07 PM

Girardi had 3 years left, and now his cap hit for the next 6 years will be:

2.61 (save 2.89 m)
3.61 (save 1.89 m)
3.61 (save 1.89 m)
1.11 (+1.11 m)
1.11 (+1.11 m)
1.11 (+1.11 m)

The rangers save 2.89 this coming season then 1.89 for two seasons after before incurring a 1.1 mil penalty for 3 seasons.

This is where Tanev is heading if he doesn't start protecting himself better/putting himself in shooting lanes so much (not the buyout, but body giving out in his early 30s)

highfive 06-14-2017 07:04 PM

^The more incentive to trade him for high end prospects!

lol

6o4__boi 06-15-2017 07:31 AM

i'd bet money Vegas will win a cup before the Canucks do lol

jeedee 06-15-2017 08:00 AM

highfive 06-15-2017 11:13 AM

Holy shit. I think Habs underpaid. Sergachev + conditional 2nd for a 50 point winger?

murd0c 06-15-2017 11:14 AM

wow that's a deal for the Habs big time
