can't say I have seen gas prices that high before lol

BIC_BAWS 11-02-2017 10:15 AM

I see more prices in the 155-157 range, for premium. So I'm guessing whoever posted 161.1 posted the higher end of prices.

Ah ok that makes sense. Still.... I remember when I had my beater dodge colt it actually paid for itself and some mods on my civic with the money I saved in fuel. 500km+ to 40L. Would be even better these days to have a little fuel economy beater.

Berz out.

Saw Reg for $1.44 today

The other thing that pisses me off is the difference between 87 and 89 (and 91). In the US, the difference is like a few cents, here it's like 15 cent jump ... ??!!

This is getting a little out of hand... honestly. I haven't gassed up in Vancouver in ages but seriously...

TjAlmeida 11-02-2017 09:02 PM

I do not watch a lot news, but i have not heard of any explanation to go along with these large hikes. Usually as soon as gas prices hike up the news is on it giving reasons/excuses for the increase. With such a crazy increase does anyone else find it interesting there have been no specials on the news or facebook links giving reason?

But hey, don't worry...the "Competition Bureau" is actively working for all us tax payers to ensure that you aren't being price fixed on BREAD. Lets ignore the obvious gas, internet and cell phone issues this country has, and yes, spend the money on a bread investigation...

Young padawan, I still remember the days when my old man bought gas at 29.9 cents for the litre.

murd0c 11-03-2017 08:52 AM

the 29.9 gas during the Arco days, cheapest I bought gas for was 49.9 when I first started driving

$1.46 today and I need 91 octane... and I'm running on fumes. Here I was trying to wait it out and see if it could go back down.

Go fill up at Superstore if you have a PC points card (7 cents off/L) or a PC debit/credit card (14 cents off/L) iirc.

According to: Gas prices continue to go up in Metro Vancouver | Vancouver Sun

Quote:

If you are unhappy with gas prices in Metro Vancouver hitting $1.45 per litre, you really won’t like Saturday’s prices, says GasBuddy petroleum analyst Dan McTeague.

Thanks to a supply crunch, he predicts the cost of gas will spike again overnight in Metro Vancouver, hitting $1.47.9 per litre... He predicts Metro Vancouver gas prices, the highest in North America, will continue until about Wednesday or Thursday.
Yikes.

belka 11-03-2017 12:01 PM

Still 108.9 here. Filled up so hopefully if they do jump up I'll be good for a bit.

To answer your question for it to be legal I would have to have everything Weights and Measures certified for resale.

if done regularly they would probably suggest it's unsafe for you to transport the gas or some other BS and revoke your Nexus

Exactly what I do :)

MG1 11-03-2017 06:31 PM

I go every week and I usually do two jerry cans. I get strange looks when I fill up in an all electric vehicle. My other three cars are still ICE (Internal Combustion Engine). Once in a while I take the Acura to Bellingham. When it's down to 1/4 tank. I never take the truck, as it's a gas guzzler. Now that I am exclusively ICE, because no snows on EV, I must get more gas from Bellingham. Damn fokkers at Costco limiting jerry can size to 22.X litres. And no, I like top tier gas. If Fred Meyers had top tier, I'd go there in an instant. I'm trying to get a US Costco card to get even more discount.

How do they limit the jerry can sizes? Do they have someone that goes around and measures the cans while you're filling them?
