From my personal experience, I prefer to deal with the male ones.

Female ones tend to stick to the book more often than to let things slide, (like the threshold value before they make me pay taxes on items I'm bringing back) and they also act a lot more stern, maybe to compensate, cause woman are generally labelled as not being tough enough to do these type of jobs... so the ones that do make it probably had to go the extra mile to prove they belong.

Anyway, just my opinion and experience. I've never actually done anything wrong or got held up at the border before.

yray 11-07-2017 08:28 PM

I have never encounter a CBSA thats not douchey, thats how they are trained. The ones that go on a power trip are chinese both sides of the border :lawl:

US CBP once asked me where I was going and said go ahead :lol

twitchyzero 11-07-2017 08:33 PM

the CBSA in Nexus lanes I find are nicer

I've received far less hassle heading south then coming back home. now generally the US are just doing a check to see who you are and where you're going where as the canadians are seeing who you are, where you've been and how much you're bringing back...they want that tax moeny

Why Are Gas Prices in Canada Suddenly So Damned High - National Post
Quote:

- Blame it all on a production slowdown in the U.S.
- The Americans have been particularly thirsty for gasoline lately
- Canadian dollars can’t buy as much gas
Quote:

Unfortunately, things probably won’t be getting any better
U.S. production will eventually catch up. That ruptured pipeline mentioned earlier is already fixed, and major refineries will soon wrap up their seasonal maintenance. However, this is all happening just in time for consumers to get hammered with the effects of higher global prices on crude oil. Demand everywhere is on the upswing, and it doesn’t help that Saudi Arabia is currently threatening war with both Lebanon and Yemen.

It is somewhat bizarre for a country that is considered so "friendly" our CBSA agents, both at the border and in our airports, tend to be pricks.

It's odd how I always have worse experience coming back to my own country, then going to the States. Luckily I've never been pulled in on either side when crossing the border though, it's just the attitude of the CBSA agents that pisses me off.

It's part of the job. I wouldn't want to see border agents, the ones that protect our country from unwanted individuals, to be buddy buddy with everyone.

[edit] I can't believe you two morons failed me

I cross every week at least once and I would say our border guards are very good/nice. Some of them really like to talk. One of them talked to me for a good 8 or so minutes when he found out I drove an all electric car. It must be my age or something. This one guy started to give me attitude.......... I just gave him the Vulcan eyebrow and he settled down and actually called me, sir.

twitchyzero 11-09-2017 06:33 PM

some guy was being questioned at the nexus booth for 5 minutes +...wanduring if it was you
just pull them inside if there's a long line-up!

MG1 11-09-2017 06:49 PM

I would never strike up a conversation if there was a line up. The only time I struck up a conversation when there was a long line up was when I encountered that really cute South Asian chick at the peace Arch crossing. Making a hottie giggle and laugh trumps all. hee hee..........

Badhobz 11-09-2017 06:53 PM

Whaaaatttt you perverted old man !!! Move your carcass so I can smuggle in Louie vuittons and shit

MG1 11-09-2017 07:01 PM

I like to spread good cheer and happiness wherever I go............ you, on the other hand.

god bless.

If you were behind me, I'd tell the border guard I saw you dumping boxes and packaging material at the rest stop prior to arriving at the border crossing, gulolol.

pretty sure i know the one. she laughed at me when i brought over a wilwood BBK for my...miata... that hurt. she used to work at yvr cargo

blkgsr 11-12-2017 05:34 PM

first gas run today, 196L total lol

filled up my truck and another 110L in jerry cans. 4x25L and 1x10L

all at 2.799 which is roughly $0.94/L which worked out to be approx $100 savings. now I'm out the initial costs of the 25L jerry cans which i bought this morning so I broke even over all but all future runs will be savings.

pretty sure the tonneau cover on my truck helped get me back across with no issues

yray 11-12-2017 06:41 PM

twitchyzero 11-13-2017 11:22 AM

Gasoline prices in B.C. have risen in line with land costs and credit card processing fees, but that doesn't fully explain why they're so much higher than in other parts of Western Canada, a new report says.

The report by Deetken Group was posted online late Wednesday by the B.C. Utilities Commission, which is overseeing a public inquiry into sky-high gas prices in the province.
lmao blaming credit card fees when the average bill is like $80+

MG1 07-12-2019 05:12 AM

Blame it on the chinese, instead............... gulolol.

This whole gas cartel thing is so BS...

Only in the lower mainland we can find price fluctuating between day and night and somehow that is fucking legal. :fuckthatshit:

Gonna replace my DD with a model 3 now, and our van with a model X once finance is up in a year and I will laugh my FUCKING ass off every time someone complains about gas price again. :fuckyea:
