Haven't been visiting this forum for some time...seems like lots of interesting topics going on here!

Can't wait til Xmas month comes....never too early to start prepping! Here are some Christmas festival and activity locations to consider and attend in the Lower Mainland~

Move 103.5 FM is now all Christmas Station............ they do a great job of playing a variety of music. Just wish they would ban Xmas songs from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.............. so fricken annoying. Especially that "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." Talk about vomitting christmas, gulolol.

acrophobia 11-18-2022 07:32 PM

PM me for a link to a PNW light show map! I'd post it here, but without permission to do so that may have me overstepping boundaries.

MG1 11-18-2022 09:26 PM

Overstepping boundaries is totally good. Do and ask for forgiveness later...............it's the christian way. Catholicc/christian same difference..........

Hence, "god bless."

MG1 11-27-2022 09:54 PM

GULOLOLOLOLOL................. the lyrics are just too much. Music from Halloween.

More................ unique voice and horn.

Spoiler!

Burnaby Heritage Museum is free admission all Christmas season. There's lights, food, and a small christmas town there. It's pretty good for being free.

Story behind it..........

Spoiler!

Anyone know any restaurants or cocktail spots they serve a good mulled wine?

Not a restaurant......... but much, much more..........

Vancouver Christmas Market

According to the review above, avoid the crowds and go on a weekday. You cannot just attend. Must order tickets in advance. I'm tempted to go, but I'm getting too old for this kind of shit. Even with the seniors discount, gulolol. If anyone else has been, let us know how good or bad the experience was..............

Hondaracer 12-07-2022 11:17 AM

The Christmas markets mulled wine is OK

Best to make your own, buy some mulling spices etc. and get some wine and a crock pot

I think at the Christmas market some of the stalls actually sell nice packs of spices instead of having to buy them all separately

mikemhg 12-07-2022 04:44 PM

Ya maybe I'll just make my own this year, usually was going to The Bakery for their mulled wine this time of year.

acrophobia 12-07-2022 07:09 PM

Whoring out the lights! (need to turn up volume to hear music)

MG1 12-10-2022 09:03 PM

Shaw Fire Log is back.............. I swear the room gets warmer just having it on, gulolol. The sound puts me to sleep.

LOL, just asked Apple Home Pod Mini to play fire log. It's playing (furnace)................ will have it on when I go to bed.

Gf bought tickets for a weekday, no lineup, it was busy inside, but minimal waits for the food lines

Otherwise mostly garbage you don't need from vendors.

Picture Richmond night market, except instead of cheap garbage from China, it's local made overpriced knick knacks made by someone that orders chia free latee skimmed vegan ultraviolet strained coffee

If you like xmas lights, they were decent, not my thing

Picked up a cider from a vendor to take home, ended up deciding to drink it there, broke the top off on a metal bench, the glass top broke off with it lol.....
Begged some vender for a cup, poured it in, good to go

Then I bought some overpriced salami to take home, fuck me was it good, don't know if it's because I haven't had salami in the longest time, or it was just that good.

Lastly got some squid for dinner, not a fan of battered squid, but it was decent

Good for a date night, or to burn a few hours.

How's Christmas in the warm weather? Does it feel a little off?

Is that your experience at the Van Christmas market or you just went to one in NZ?

Badhobz 12-11-2022 09:47 AM

I remember trying lamb and beef in Oz and it was totally different than what we have here. It taste much more meaty and juicy. Prices were reasonable too.

MG1 12-11-2022 04:18 PM

Yeah, I remember them. Watched every episode of AGT. The arabian girls won this year, iirc. What they did was not new, but being from Iran/Iraq/Wherever, made it special.

N.V.M. 12-11-2022 04:33 PM

they uploaded a video to TikTok, Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics. even Annie Lennox commented.

It's only November, but was starting to think of things to give friends and relatives for Christmas, this year. I found the perfect gift for a friend of mine who's really into Nespresso, lol. Only problem is, I have to give it to her before Christmas, yes?

https://www.nespresso.com/ca/en/orde...ting_tactic=RN

Available for both original and vert.

On a side note:

Christmas music station on iHeart Radio. Damn...................

Everywhere I go, there's Christmas decorations up already. Been that way before Halloween. Yikes!

I do love Christmas.................

I don't understand the hype behind these. Reminds me of a 7-11 cup from back in the day (you know, 7-11 coffee cup they used to/maybe still sell?).
