Vancouver 2010 was by far one of the best times of my life. EVERYONE was decked out in Olympic spirit and it was just so much fun being shoulder to shoulder with foreigners (that can't speak English), but can still celebrate the world of sport with you
Those of you that didn't go to the Holland Heineken House definitely missed out. I think I was there with friends for like 10 or 11 days of the entire Olympics and every night was such a fucking blast | We tried to go to HH one night but waited in line for over an hour just to be told we wouldnt be getting in.. and its a bit of a haul from surrey so that was our only attempt
Best night for me was walking from coal harbour to Saxony house at the vanouver rowing club in stanley park, relatviely unknown house due to location but we went anyways, stood in line for an hour and a half in the pouring rain only to be rewarded with an insanely good party
Cheap AF steins of real german beer, brat wust on the BBQ out on the patio, one of the best cover bands ive ever heard. They had full on hardcore german accents but did eagles, dire straights etc to perfection. Even made out with some random american chick out on the patio lol
Partied HARD that night then went back downtown at like 1am and granville was still a shit show packed shoulder to shoulder, man what fucking nights we had!

We've moved way past that now, we have top tier cut throat athletes who are expected to win and often live up to those high expectations. Chan is the perennial runner up and no matter how many world championships he's won, he will always be remebered for his failures at the olympic level when the pressure is the highest. | spot on. My kids are really liking skeleton and the sliding sports, while I found the ski slopestyle pretty darn intense!

Less than a point apart. Wow!
I remember when they first had their start. What a journey. I have to google all their performances now. They kept raising the bar and wowed the audiences each and everytime they took to the ice.

It'll be weird to watch the next Winter Olympics without them being in it. Those two have always been on my must-see list for events.

The best compliment anyone can receive is when a person says, because of them, I got into this (sport, job, hobby, whathaveyou.)
...............even though ice dancing doesn't take as much talent as, whatsthatothersportagain?
BTW, talent is not quite the same as skill.
