Couple of inaccuracies in that video: 1. License/permit is required in the US. It's done by the state though and not federal. 2. Not all semi auto are restricted class in Canada, and so require no registering. |
The semi-auto shown in that graphic (I can't tell exactly what it is, those may actually be full auto) would probably be restricted because of its size, not because it's a semi-auto. |
It's full auto lol |

I made a comment a few pages back about death that I feel like I should clarify. I was listening to my Cosmo's factory album yesterday in the car and this song comes on, and it really made me think about what I was trying to say. I don't know how it makes other people feel, but it always chokes me up. It's sad. But at the same time there's a real beauty about it. They say that death is the greatest gift of life. And I had to think about that for a minute. And it dawned on me that it's absolutely true. The only reason we do anything in life, the only reason it has meaning, is because of death. And the only reason we feel any urgency to do it is because we don't know when it'll be. And there is a beauty about that. The same beauty that there is in pain or suffering. They're relative to happiness and pleasure. Without one to compare with, the other wouldn't exist. The same concept as Einstein's theory of relativity. Essentially the concept of existence. I feel like somewhere along the way we lost that respect for the concept of death. Like we feel like we're all entitled to live to 100 years old. Maybe our lack of respect for death has something to do with our lack of respect for life. There was almost no time to mourn in this incident. No time to appreciate life. Almost immediately the subject was blame and prevention. Almost vengeful. That didn't used to be the immediate reaction. Maybe there's something wrong with that. Anyways, just wanted to clarify. Maybe even steer away from the same ol same ol arguments. |

It became the immediate reaction because it happens so often now. If it was once in a blue moon it would just be seen as some unpreventable tragedy instead of pointing fingers. The fact that it keeps happening and no changes are being made that people are just getting pissed off instead of stopping to appreciate life. I think everyone is entitled to live to 100 if the other option is getting gunned down because you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. You might think that's just the way it goes until it happens to you or someone you love. |

There have been 2045 gun deaths so far this year in the US (no suicides included) 3518 injuries 209 incidents of self defence related gunfire 238 accidental shootings. Man those good guys with guns sure are saving the world. 30-1 for the bad guys isn't much of a stat for that argument. |

^^right. Cuz that's what people think of when they hear school shooting, following an incident like this. |

Even WaPo called it out as bogus and misleading https://www.washingtonpost.com/local...3fe_story.html |
^welfare, i'm really curious, who/what do you use for your sources of information and news? |
He just googles for the first source that disagrees with the last post he sees. |

One mass shooting in a school is bad enough and should be plenty for anyone who wishes to enact any sort of change, regardless of what side of the argument you're on. But to lump other firearm incidents into the school shooting umbrella and not differentiate between them... well, that's one of the reasons why I got out of the media. While it may not necessarily be dishonest, it's certainly misleading. |

And for the record, I did say they could probably use stiffer control down there. Namely, a better effort of keeping guns out of the hands of those who have no business having them. But when people cite patently misleading data, it really just undermines the argument. |
i wonder if foreign social justice warriors are defending american's rights to guns because it's part of their culture. |

AR15 are the pit bulls of the gun world. They're scary looking, and mean sounding. So I get it when people want them banned. Just like I'm 100% in support of banning pit bulls. It's not the breed, it's the owner. Just like it's not the gun, it's the shooter? If we can save just one life, it's worth it. Chew on that for a minute. |
