So people who enjoy good food are gluttons now?
"Taste comes secondary"... I feel truly sorry for anyone who lives that way. Yeah you might live another 3 years, but what a miserable 3 years that would be, eating boring shitty food every day
Then again, there are people who really don't care about food, so to each their own. Don't call normal people "gluttons" though who "can't resist temptation". That makes you sound... well a bit psychotic

I don’t even see it as a temptation, more like ignorance? Why do you take this medicine, oh, because the pill looks good..

That makes you sound... well a bit psychotic | I suppose it’s all subjective. One just needs to be aware of the nutritious value of food and act wisely, that’s all.
There are lots of healthy yet tasty food.. Oysters, toro, caviar, fruits, grass fed beef, fresh vegetables to name a few. I eat out 95% of the time and drink a bottle a day (yes I know), yet manage to keep my 40 lbs off with ease.
I argue nutritious food doesn’t have to be boring. Boring food are the cheap food with poor ingredients, with lots of empty calories. Stuff loaded with much sugar and salt to fool the naive consumer.
There is a reason why we are faced with such a large obese and unhealthy population, a multi billion weight lost industry helping folks who are depressed.

There is a reason why we are faced with such a large obese and unhealthy population, a multi billion weight lost industry helping folks who are depressed. | The crux of the problem is that good, healthy, tasty, nutritious food is expensive, especially when it's prepared for you. It's much easier to find cheap food that fills you up but it almost always end up being unhealthy garbage. Then you are faced with the prospect of having to prepare every single one of your meals, which is hard to upkeep. Culturally, we probably just aren't there yet.

That makes you sound... well a bit psychotic | you only feel sorry because you think everyone will feel the same way you do if you had your "good" food taken away.
good food to me is in a way miserable too, when im thinking of how much time im wasting sitting there, "enjoying" ...taste. when i could be doing other things I like more. every bite i eat, also adds to toilet time and all this other stuff like having to go out or spend money on an "upkeep" that is needed for survival. well i'd rather be doing something else with my time than shoveling stuff into my mouth lol.
of course when im hungry food tastes good and is enjoyable, but you know, my hobbies and interests are a lot more enjoyable. objectively, in comparison to other activities, food doesnt rank that high to me.
subjectively when im hungry and i've missed 1-2 meals, yes, food is very good. until i'm full, and then i wish i was incapable of going through that cycle. Wish i could just swap a battery out or something.
of course i still have my favourites. i enjoy a bowl of pho, i enjoy mcdix etc. but conceptually if i could redesign myself... food would be eliminated. i can live without the enjoyment of taste. im just not a taste kinda guy. Quote:

but you know if you think about it... on an objective scale... to a monk that only eats the bare minimum needed to be healthy, sometimes not even... the rest of us are totally gluttons. there's no error in that logic.
the err is on your perspective. you shouldnt get offended, you should just admit to it and embrace it... and enjoy all the momentary delights, and accept all the strings attached to it.

It's really quite simple, when I see obese friends downing their favourite junk, I just look at them and realize the strings attached and act accordingly.
We just have different forms of vanity for different ages perhaps, I am addicted to enjoying looking at my abs but they are addicted to the momentary satisfaction when swallowing I suppose.
The plus side of my vanity is to look and maintain healthy; when I'm 80, I'll be pleased looking like that grandpa model from China: https://www.gq.com/story/wang-deshun-fashion-week |

Shit I've been eating the exact same lunch for four years straight now lol. I still "enjoy" it every time because I'm hungry and it has all the nutrition I need. Also, it's fast, cheap and easy to pack for the work week.
I'll eat anything that doesn't taste like dirt and/or make me feel like crap.
The human body is pretty good at taking just about anything and turning it into energy (obvs)
