Trump expecting to be arrested by Tuesday?

Trump Says His Arrest Is Imminent and Calls for Protests, Echoing Jan. 6 https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/18/u...tmwFC--Y82YuPt

Manic! 03-18-2023 01:12 PM

Will believe it when I see it.

westopher 03-18-2023 08:45 PM

Anyone willing to take a bet for a nice 4 pack of crispy bois that he will not be arrested (ever, but since that bet would never get paid up lets say by may)

mikemhg 03-19-2023 10:28 AM

He won't be arrested :lol

GLOW 03-19-2023 11:06 AM

even if he won't be arrested, what's the chances of shit going down somewhere in NY on tuesday?

inv4zn 03-29-2023 06:34 PM

lol, another unironically funny story:
https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/29/polit...rol/index.html

tl;dr
- Disney criticizes DeSantis and his anti-LGBT bs
- DeSantis fights back by seizing control of the district Disney World is on by passing a law to fire the board, and gives him control to name a new board
- Disney signs agreements with existing board 1 day before they are to be replaced, valid until "“21 years after the death of the last survivor of the descendants of King Charles III, king of England.”
- New board has no power other than to maintain roads & basic infrastructure for 30+ years, at least
- Republicans furious

mikemhg 03-30-2023 10:49 AM

What's more insane by all that is it just shows how disingenuous Republicans truly are.

I thought these guys are the party of Libertarians, the idea of laissez faire, keep government out of private business.

Guess that only applies to "lefty" organizations, right? :lol

Fuck these morons.

inv4zn 03-30-2023 10:58 AM

It's so convoluted, and even after nearly 10 years of Republican bullshit I still cannot fathom how people still support republicanism, other than the fact that many of them are uneducated and/or racist.

They tout small government and government not meddling in business, but only when it comes to things like abortion and gun control. And even then it's only when it benefits them.

White guys shooting up a school: WE NEED TO ARM THE TEACHERS, THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
Trans guy shoots up a Christian school: WE NEED TO RESTRICT GUN SALES TO TRANSGENDERS. THERE'S A WAR ON CHRISTIANITY BY THE LEFT.

Gas prices go up due to world economics instability: BIDEN IS RUINING OUR LIVES.
Gas prices go back down as supply increases: TRUMP DID THAT.

Trump rolls back regulations in rail safety, marine safety, banks: YESS LESS GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT AND HUGE CORPORATE PROFITS
Multiple trainwrecks carrying hazardous goods, spills in freshwaterways, banks go bankrupt: JOE BIDEN IS RUINING AMERICA

Women want abortions: MURDER! MURDER! WE NEED TO MAKE LAWS TO MAKE ABORTIONS ILLEGAL
Covid rules & vaccination requirements: MY BODY MY CHOICE. GOVERNMENT CANNOT CONTROL MY HEALTH

Seriously, fuck these morons.

Trump indicted over hush money payments in Stormy Daniels probe

The indictment against the twice-impeached Mr Trump makes him the first former US president to face criminal charges

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-b2299280.html

Is it almost time to celebrate?

68style 03-30-2023 02:13 PM

I seriously doubt anything will happen to him, this is the U S of A... like John Stewart said the other day in an intervew... nobody goes to jail for financial crimes anymore if they're rich or have powerful friends.

Great68 03-30-2023 03:39 PM

His base doesn't care about sedition, why would they care about financial crimes, especially something so obscure as a campaign financing charge?

Let's be honest, nothing will change as a result of this.

68style 03-30-2023 05:29 PM

His base would be like “fuck ya I’d bone a porn star if I could too!! giddy up” and then make a night time post on social media decrying lost family values sponsored by Bud Light, wake up and go to church to shed a tear over forgiveness in the bible and then go home and shoot a black guy who came over to ask to borrow a wrench.

It’s complicated.

Traum 03-30-2023 07:01 PM

If anything, the indictment will only further fuel and energize his support base. Now he can play the victim card and claim political [edit] prosecution -- which to a certain extent, I agree it absolutely is.

The trial itself is gonna be long and drawn out, and meanwhile, the presidential election is still gonna take place, and that's where the re-energized Trump support base will come into play -- Trump will absolutely milk this indictment opportunity to get his supporters out to vote, and should he win the election, then he'll have immunity for at least the next 4 years.

That is absolutely the worst case scenario I can think of, and unfortunately, I fully expect that is at least partly how it'll play out.

Whoever thought up this indictment plan -- if he is anti-Trump, he is an idiot because he has just helped push things along the direction that he hates. And if he is pro-Trump, then he is a fxxking genius.

I think you need to look up the definition of perjury.

Fox Displays Poll Showing 61% of People Don't Want Donald Trump Back

-just watched CNN video of Wolf Blitzer interviewing former VP Pence about Trump's indictment.

Mikey calls this indictment "an outrage" given the timing of indictment from a grand jury.

Pence said that we are a long way to even a possible conviction of Cheeto.

Pence also stated that a judge can throw the case out before it even goes to trial.

Blitzer kept giving rebuttals to Pence saying "Well, under the Trump justice department, Michael Cohen was under investigation. He went to prison for a year for lying to Congress".

-seems to me that the Woke Left are saying that there is more to these 30 charges of business fraud than just a politically motivated attacked on Orange Man. ...Interesting.

68style 03-31-2023 07:33 AM

Pence is back to defending him now too is he... I wonder what he uses to stand up, so spineless.

westopher 03-31-2023 08:23 AM

Is the New York department of justice "the woke left" now? Seems like a pretty low bar to classify as woke.

68style 03-31-2023 08:34 AM

Haha no kidding hey... place has gotta be so buttoned down half the guys working over there probably get steamy glasses just looking at cleavage in a coffee shop.

I hope Republicans and American voters will both ditch Trump for the next election too. But at least at the Republican level, I am not seeing a contender that can outrun Trump yet.

DeSantis still doesn't seem / act like he has the will to challenge Trump in the primaries. Haley would be a more sensible choice than Trump, but I still think there are more nutcases than level-headed people in the GOP.

Pence is polling pretty low as the favoured candidate, and Pompeo is polling even lower still.

So who else is there that may stand a chance? I'm sure things will start clearly up as we get closer to the GOP primaries.

They're just using the word "woke" now to describe anything they don't like, and to try and hide their own shittiness.

Political prosecution. Not sure why "perjury" came out of my fingers instead.

pastarocket 03-31-2023 10:10 AM

Meanwhile, Biden is keeping his mouth shut and not giving any comments to the media about Trump's indictment.

I give props to Sleepy Joe. Sure, the President makes verbal gaffes by saying the wrong things, and has been caught falling asleep during meetings.

Remember when Biden said "Thanks China" during his speech to Parliament last week? :lawl:

He is smart to not give any comments to the media about Cheeto's indictment.
-just keep working on the White House's priorities and agenda. Business as usual.

He's a big contrast to the loud mouth Trump. Narcissistic Orange Man never knows when to shut up.

Biden declines to comment on Trump indictment
From CNN's Arlette Saenz

President Joe Biden repeatedly declined to comment on the indictment of former President Donald Trump as he departed the White House this morning.

Remember: There has been no statement from Biden following the news of the indictment. No comment came from the White House and there is little evidence that public posture will change any time soon, even as officials acknowledge they will be closely monitoring any security issues that may develop.

“He’s the president, not a legal analyst,” one Democrat in regular contact with the White House said. “He has an administration to run.”

Biden’s initial silence in the wake of Trump’s indictment isn’t a surprise. While officials inside the West Wing were as surprised as the rest of the country by the news, there was no scramble to prepare anything to release publicly.

Instead, Biden faces a convergence of two clear, if unofficial, animating principles of his first two years in office: don’t engage in ongoing legal cases and don’t get distracted by issues that don’t have a tangible effect on Americans.

The approach is designed, at least in part, to keep the administration’s focus on its priorities and agenda.

EvoFire 03-31-2023 10:56 AM

Props to Biden to focusing on issues and priorities he needs to solve on hand. It's a good example to everyone to mind their own business
