The amount of hate going around that country is insane. Russia and China are laughing at us. I don't know if I blame the outside influence, our own government, or its idiot people.

It's not just America; there's a lot of hate in Canada as well. Social media, particularly X, is littered with racist, anti-government nonsense. Unfortunately, Trump has brought out the worst in people and given those on the fringe right a voice. Scary times.

We are nowhere near that level of shit that the US is at, but we could be if we aren’t careful. I do think social media is dwindling in Canada, at least in my demographic it is. That’s really the root of most of it.
Maybe it’s just that we aren’t heavily armed.

This bodybuilding gym I was a member of in San Antonio has an owner that likes to post videos of people doing "bad" things at the gym on his social media.

He posted a video a few days ago of this young "Edgar" (it's what they call Latinos down there) taking a $5 energy drink from the gym's self-serve fridge and not paying. SAPD sends 4 officers down to the gym to arrest the kid in handcuffs and perp walk him outside and lay charges.

Stealing is stealing, but man, is it ever jarring to see how many errant cops that are driving around cities in Texas like SA with fuck all to do, sending 4 officers to cuff and arrest a kid over a $5 drink is just nuts to watch in my opinion. When you're down there you start to wonder what the ratio of tax dollars are siphoned simply towards law enforcement, and nothing else.

That Florida sheriff's comments are simply par for the course.

I think you're missing the point that even 1 sheriff would show up for a kid taking an energy drink.
