I'm so fascinated at how batshit crazy he is, I can't tell if he's being serious or trolling half the time.

That smart wrench he keeps posting is the wackiest idea I've seen posted on this forum :lol

Mike, what are your thoughts on more early detection and warning systems for floods in Texas? This state is just flat land, river plains?

I think that TACO Cheeto's cutting of FEMA is a very bad idea. There needs to be more funding and resources for that federal agency so that people in Texas have more advanced warning of floods in low flood plain areas in that state.

https://www.cnn.com/weather/live-new...c-07-07-25-hnk

Sirens, cell phone towers, and just getting more people to knock on doors of Texas residents to warn about the risk of floods.

-know a guy who has family living in Houston. He said that his family is safe from the floods so far.

Multiple trump officials said they where going to release the Epstein list now the DOJ is saying there was no list and no black mailing. Love how they dropped the news as the Texas floods are happening.

Exclusive: DOJ, FBI conclude Epstein had no "client list," died by suicide

Despite warnings that Trump’s cuts to the National Weather Service would degrade its forecasting ability, Texas officials now blame the NWS for a faulty forecast in the deadly flood that killed over 50 people and hit a girls' camp.

These fckers are making the National Weather Service shitty on purpose so they can privatize it.

We have friends we made when living in San Antonio that live in up north near Marble Falls in Central Texas. The videos they've been sending us of the flooding on the streets is fucking insane. I have hate relationship with that stinky ass Guadalupe River :lol

Honestly, when it comes to Trump and the FEMA cuts, I try to be neutral and non-biased because I can't stand the political grandstanding either party does when it comes to disasters such as this one (for example Trump blamed Biden for the wildfires in California, which is stupid). Often times the ramifications of cuts aren't manifested until years later, so I'd somewhat doubt cuts made from a few weeks or months ago would've had any material impact on this one.

For example the results of the Medicare cuts won't be seen for years down the line, same as his cuts to STEM funding, we won't see the negative impacts to that for years down the line.

mikemhg 07-07-2025 11:38 AM

The reality is Texas is a Republican state, these assholes and its residents have been cutting services and safeguards for decades now.

Apparently this same scenario has happened numerous times, a summer camp in 1987. The commissioner in Kerr Country in 2016 said it was expensive and unnecessary to have auditory warning systems, and here we are.

Texans are stupid, short minded, selfish fuckers.

Give me socialist Canada over that shithole any day of the week.

68style 07-07-2025 12:04 PM

The only thing that surprised me about the response to these floods is that Ted Cruz didn’t go on a vacation during it.

Calling Texans stupid because Texas votes red is lazy-brained cope. Texas isn’t just Bible thumpers and oil barons... it’s also blue-flipping suburbs, queer mayors in Houston, and more complexity than your smug little Elbows Up fantasy can handle.

Emergency systems failed because some local idiot didn’t want to pay for sirens, not because the whole state is evil. And if you’re Canadian throwing stones, maybe remember BC let 619 people die in the heat dome while Washington and Oregon kept their toll under 150. No door knocks, no AC, no shame. Canada’s social safety net has holes big enough to fall through and catch fire on the way down... just ask the reserves without clean water!

The ultimate betrayal for the MAGA crowd...

Quote:

RIP, Dan Bongino’s mentions.

On Monday night, the deputy FBI director faced the wrath of MAGA in his first post since the Department of Justice announced that the long-touted “client list” of deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein did not actually exist.

Bongino, along with other top Trump officials, including Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, had suggested the DOJ possessed damning materials from the Epstein case. On Fox News back in February, Bondi was asked, “The DOJ may be releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients. Will that really happen?”

The attorney general replied, “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.”

But on Monday, Axios reported that Bondi’s department concluded in a memo that Epstein did not keep a list of clients, stating that there was “no incriminating ‘client list'” and no evidence that “Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.” The memo also echoed the already official line on Epstein’s death, stating that he killed himself by strangulation in a Manhattan jail cell while awaiting trial in 2019. Regarding the suicide, Bongino told Fox News the same thing in May.

Hours after the Axios report dropped, Bongino on X shared a screenshot of a Truth Social post by President Donald Trump, who touted an article about murder rates decreasing nationwide. Trump praised Bongino and Patel. The deputy director simply tweeted, “We are doubling down. No letting up.”

In a mere two and a half hours, Bongino received an eye-popping 10,000 replies to 2,300 retweets – many if not most of which were quote-tweets trashing him.

The top reply to Bongino’s tweet said, “You failed us.” It was followed by an impossibly long list of replies ripping the FBI’s and the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein case, which Mediaite founder Dan Abrams explained “could become a serious political liability” for Republicans after they teased the Epstein files for years.

For once I actually agree, the timeline on this one was he was already away when it happened. And he came back in a reasonable amount of time as the emergency unfolded… probably under “advice” from his people.

Shitty optics due to timing, but he didn’t actually do anything wrong this time.

Badhobz 07-08-2025 05:32 AM

Why does he need a vacation ? He doesn’t do any work (I really shouldn’t say this)

Perhaps if you read with better precession, you would realize I have never "consistently defend all of trump’s muppets.":failed:

I am actually surprised y'all didn't blame climate change for this flooding.
