With Henrik retiring, no way that Sutter gets traded. Although Sutter is overpaid for his role as a 3rd line center. Our centers would be Horvat, Gagner, Gaudette?

With the Oilers looking to possibly move Lucic, would you trade Loui Eriksson for him?

Absolutely. Lucic is from here, hardly gets injured and can fight once in a while. Eriksson does absolutely nothing and is frustrating as hell to watch.

Granlund, Gaunce, and Chaput would also be options at C.

Gagner has been used sparingly at C since he left Edmonton, so I'd consider him more as a winger now. Granlund has also mostly played wing the past few years, too, as has Gaunce.

Chaput is the only one who has recent significant experience and he was in the AHL the vast majority of the season last year and is a 26-year-old RFA who, I'd guess, probably won't be qualified.

Pettersson didn't play centre last year in the SHL or in his draft season in Allsvenskan, so I'd say the odds of him playing centre as an NHL rookie are approximately 0%.

puting him in as a second line center would probably be setting him up for failure imo

My bad, didn't realize they switched him to centre in February. Still, 2.5 months at centre in the SHL still isn't a lot of experience.

Pretty sure Benning already stated that the plan is for Pettersson to eventually move to Center but not right away. Most likely depends on his learning curve

It would make sense if he eventually did, he’s pretty slight of frame to be grinding the boards on the wing.

Plus those hands and hockey IQ would be far more beneficial as a C than a W
