Nah they need to stay where they are. Best show on the station by a mile.

If anything they should start them at 8 and run some filler from 5-8. Whether that's Pratt and DT or some syndicated show that's fine with me.

Baertschi, Virtanen, and Stecher qualified.

Cassels, Cederholm, Molino, Pouliot, and Stewart released.

Pouliot expected to be re-signed, but QO would've had to be $840k and he would've had arbitration rights.

Man I remember how hyped I was for Cole Cassels in his final year of junior. He had a great playoffs and won the Memorial Cup. I thought he was definitely going to be a great 2B or 3rd line center for many years with the Canucks. Guy can barely make it in Utica! Shows how hard the transition is between Junior and the major for many players.

I think he had a bunch of injuries. You still gotta put the work in even after you’ve been drafted. That’s why bo is captain material. Look at how he improves his game year after year. If this can get to jakes head, we be good.

Man Ottawa traded dahlen for a buyout! Lol

Burrows is 37 and, as much as I love the guy, it's probably time for him to retire. Put him in the Ring of Honour the same night as they retire the Sedins' jerseys (hopefully first home game of the season).

He suffered abdominal "micro-tears" in December 2014 and continued to play through it when his team won the Memorial Cup of that season. Canucks medical staff thought it didn't warrant surgery, so he mainly rested during the offseason. He started the '15-'16 season reportedly still in pain and discomfort and had a pretty poor season. In the summer of 2016, he still didn't have surgery, but went through a rehab program for it instead.

Last year, Trent Cull raved about Cassels at the AHL level, but that's as a 22-year-old. Obviously Canucks management felt it was too little, too late but it's entirely possible that Cassels is yet another casualty of our medical staff making poor decisions with our prospects (Rodin, Hodgson, etc.)

As for putting in the work, I don't think you can accuse Cassels of not putting in the work considering he basically played through a fairly significant injury for at least 2.5 years.
Quote:
“I was always taught to never complain and take what you’re given,” Cassels said Tuesday following an informal skate at Rogers Arena. “He (father) was my coach in minor hockey and I don’t think I could have complained to him much. It’s a learning curve and you have to adapt because my dad was a first-rounder and played in the minors, too.

“I gave it all I could last year and worked my hardest. They (Canucks) knew that I couldn’t perform the way I wanted to or like most people thought I could. But most people go through that in a career and I was lucky enough to do it when I was young.”

32 years old on a multi year deal. Fuck I hope the price is right, probably won't be coming off a Stanley cup win.

Jesus Christ, I thought we were done with the meat and potatoes bullshit ...

Do we really need more bottom 6 players? We already have a roster full of them ...

i wouldn't mind roussel but depends on the money and term...

jay beagle is a solid bottom 6 guy good for face offs and pk but that's about it.

Canucks also in on tobias reider which I like since he is quick, can play the pk/pp and is the right fit for age.

say Canucks sign these 3 players you would have to assume they would have to try and move some guys from the current roster to make room. Who would you think would be the odd mans out?
